A press conference was held via Zoom meeting last November 2021 to welcome Careless Music‘s new artists: Destiny Rogers, August Wahh, and SOS.
Careless Music CEO Jeffrey Oh, as well as its founder and president James Reid, were present to personally welcome the fresh batch of talents.
“I have a pop sound but my melody’s Rnb,” said Destiny Rogers, who started writing music when she was just 16 years old. She likes thinking out of the box, emphasizing that that’s what makes her music “fresh and unique.”
One may recall that Rogers and Reid previously collaborated on the music video Lie to Me which broke musical as well as cultural borders.
August Wahh, on the other had encountered Careless Music via a mutual contact, a music producer working in Australia who also collaborated with the label. She feels nervous and looks at this as a “new adventure.” “They didn’t wanna control me and they wanted me to do me so I’m up for that,” the General Santos City native cited as the reason why she was convinced to sign with them.
The main pillar of Careless Music feels humbled, honored, and grateful that she’s now part of the label. “There’s no one that does the sound that August does,” Reid exclaimed. August confirmed that she definitely wants to experiment with her music further while she’s with them.
SOS (formerly known as She’s Only Sixteen), an alternative Filipino pop band, has not signed on to any label in the last 15 years. “It’s just refreshing that we have a team to back us up and all that opportunity that comes along with being part of that team,” the band members shared.
Aside from introducing the roster, the former Viva artist gave a sneak peek of their upcoming projects in 2023, which includes a North American tour happening towards the end of January up to the latter part of Februrary.
Reid wants to “keep everyone in the loop” when it comes to what they are doing so he is very much hands on not just with Careless Music’s production side, but also its publicity aspect.
