Education Secretary Sonny Angara met with Institute of Technical Education officials

Look! Education Secretary Sonny Angara met with Institute of Technical Education (ITE) officials, led by CEO Low Khah Gek, during his recent work visit in Singapore. The meeting focused on various avenues to enhance student employability.

ITE is a public education institution in Singapore that offers pre-employment training for secondary school graduates via 2 year courses for National ITE Certificate (Nitec) and Higher Nitec. Upon completion, graduates can advance to polytechnic education or a private university.

Sec. Angara was given a tour of the ITE campus that features simulated and real-world workspaces designed to develop learners’ job skills for high-growth industries. Among these were the ITE Centre for Healthcare Simulation Training (School of Health Sciences), Data Centre Lab (School of Electronics and Info-Comm Technology), ITE-Sembcorp Centre for Sustainable Solutions (School of Engineering), and Logistics Training Hub (School of Business & Services).

Also present at the campus tour were ITE College East Principal Dr. Yek Tiew Ming, International Office Deputy Manager Vanessa Kwan, and International Office Senior Executive Siti Sulastri Ahmad.
