The whole country has been through quite a lot ever since the spread of COVID-19, especially with the rapid changes in our lifestyles and schedules in order to prevent contracting the virus. This caused us to prioritize our health more than ever.

Even so, many are understandably  struggling when it comes to properly taking care of themselves as they go through hard times. Fortunately it’s never too late to turn things around. Whether you’ve already been vaccinated or have yet to be one, it’s always great to set aside some time for yourself as the pandemic continues.

The following are quick and easy to follow self-care tips that can make you feel refreshed in an instant:

Pick healthy food by being informed on what to buy:

It may seem obvious but people often tend to neglect what’s in the food that they consume. It’s also worth noting that good food doesn’t have to be expensive, and there are some worthy choices with healthy fats, high fiber, and vitamins. It also helps to learn things that are worth avoiding in your diet, such as too much processed food or sodium.

It’s always great to be up to date and stay educated with the news. However, it can sometimes be stressful when the constant onslaught of pandemic-related issues become the only things that you think about. Simply disconnecting from your gadgets such as phones and TV and channeling your energy to something productive may help.

Take note of your “Sleep hygiene”:

Keeping our immune system healthier than ever is a definite priority during these trying times. One way to keep it strong is by having a good enough sleep. Its effects shouldn’t be underestimated, since lacking enough sleep can mess with your focus and may increase your stress levels.

One of the ways to cope with a pandemic is by connecting with your loved ones. It could mean reconnecting with old pals, or cherishing the ones that are currently with you, and not taking them for granted. Even meeting new people can be a great experience through dating apps, since it’s worth noting that feeling lonely during these times is something many people experience as well.

Learn a new skill:

More than a year in during the pandemic, you may have thought of picking up a shiny new hobby or a cool skill you once dreamt of learning years ago. If you’ve stopped at some point, there is still lots of time for you to pick them up again! Be it learning a new language, learning how to bake, paint or trying a new instrument–there’s no deadline in picking up a hobby you enjoy.
