Philippine showbiz is again on high alert, thanks to the controversy involving a familiar name in showbiz, Barbie Imperial, and a neophyte named Debbie Garcia, who to be honest, this writer just heard about thanks to this scandal which happened in a bar in Quezon City.

In the CCTV (closed-cicuit television) footage which circulated around 24 hours ago, Barbie can be seen approaching Debbie in a rush and then a confrontation between the two ensued. According to report by Pep, the newbie talent of Viva Artists Agency (VAA), Debbie, filed 3 cases against Barbie: slight physical injuries, grave oral defamation, and grave slander by deed.

This was filed at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office on November 2, at around one o’clock in the afternoon. Debbie Garcia was accompanied by her legal counsel.

According to some sources, the row started because allegedly, Barbie is jealous of Debbie, who is currently receiving attention from her ex-boyfriend, Diego Loyzaga. However, self-titled “pambansang marites” (top Filipino gossipmonger) Xian Gaza has a series of posts on his personal Facebook page “Christian Albert Gaza” that seem to be alluding to the situation.

In fact, he even called out Barbie Imperial on one of them, tagging her on his status and mentioning the cases filed against her. 7 hours prior to that namedropping, he posted “EXAM REVIEWER: A PLOT SUMMARY” which is about a conversation between persons B and D. B is mad that D is hanging out with her friends and D says it is none of his/her business since he/she is friends with them as well. B then accuses D of trying to steal them like what was done to her ex. D then inaudibly murmurs something and B then proceeds to attack.

In a later post made after the one about filing cases, Xian Gaza posted a screenshot of him replying to a certain Ace Alemania on a thread. He implied that someone was taunted deliberately and everything was planned.

“True. Kudos to Mamshie. Tinrigger niya yung isa kasi alam niyang madadala sa silakbo ng damdamin sabay hugot ng CCTV at sampa ng kaso. Tutunog tuloy pangalan niya ngayon. Artista kasi siya pero lima lang silang nakakaalam,” he stated.

As of writing, Barbie has been silent about the issue, despite VAA already issuing a statement supporting the Debbie and saying that they don’t tolerate violence. This was not the first time Barbie Imperial’s name was dragged in a negative direction because of a viral allegation.

In December 2, 2019, Annalaine Revilla, who claimed to be her personal assistant, asked help from the Raffy Tulfo in Action (RTIA) show because the young actress allegedly underpaid her and treated her badly.

According to Raffy Tulfo, while handling a complaint from another personal assistant towards a different young actress, who first did not name the actress in his show, the two were able to reconcile and move on. Xian Gaza often refers to himself as a convicted scammer and as a fugitive. So, he has nothing to fear if he gets sued for cyberlibel, right?
