Balik Kampung with Twilight: Project Pasar Malam Brings Back the Buzz – Indoors!

SHARE
Remember when pasar malams popped up in empty fields, and the air was filled with the scent of Ramly burgers, the sizzle of goreng pisang, and the joy of $1 toys and old-school rides? When families strolled shoulder to shoulder under fairy lights, sipping bandung and sharing a plastic bag of kacang putih?
From 31 May to 1 June 2025, Project Pasar Malam by Twilight invites Singaporeans to relive that magic — but indoors and with a fresh twist. Organised by Adi Media, this thoughtfully curated food and lifestyle event brings the beloved pasar malam experience back to life. Inspired by the heart of Singapore’s hawker and pasar malam heritage, this event welcomes all to reconnect with the flavours, fun, and fellowship we’ve all missed.
Beyond being a food fair, the event celebrates the enduring spirit of Singapore’s pasar malam culture through more than 60 halal-certified food vendors and 40 lifestyle booths. Expect familiar favourites like Ramly burgers, otah-otah, and putu piring, along with a special throwback to traditional snacks such as kacang putih, muah chee, ice cream bread, traditional tin biscuits, dragon beard candy, and putu mayam. Most of these nostalgic treats will be priced between just $1 and $2 — a nod to the good old days when a couple of dollars went a long way.
A Taste of What’s to Come:
- Burock: Classic Malaysian-style Ramly burger
- Golden Bao: Spicy curry-dipped beef flatbread
- Haig Road Putu Piring: Heritage family dessert
- Ikan1986: Traditional otah-otah, wrapped in a banana leaf
- Chendol Kain Pelikat: Old-school icy favourite
- Santan by Auntie Bedah: Serving Nasi Lemak Bungkus (classic-style) alongside a spread of Nyonya kueh
- Imagine Iced Coffee: Coffee served in a variety of refreshing styles

From heritage brands to passionate homegrown startups, many of the vendors are seasoned favourites on the night market circuit or trusted names in the wedding and F&B scene. Complementing the food are lifestyle offerings from FOMO Weekend Market and The Wedding Upmarket, featuring handmade crafts, accessories, and independent brands.
Families can also look forward to a dedicated carnival zone with retro pasar malam games, a hands-on craft corner by Crafty Summers and Fun Studio, and plenty of kid-friendly fun — making this a wholesome weekend outing for foodies, families, and everyone in between.
Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Halls 403 & 404. Right in the heart of town, but safely indoors — so you can enjoy the buzz of a pasar malam without worrying about the heat or rain.
The venue is easily accessible and comfortable, with dedicated facilities for parents with young children and wheelchair users.
