BCP’s Annual General Membership Meeting Highlights

At the Annual General Membership Meeting of the Blockchain Council of the Philippines (BCP), after three impactful years, the BCP looks forward to a year of bigger activities, stronger partnerships, and a sharper focus on responsible blockchain adoption.

The event was graced by key figures from government and industry:

• Rogelio Quevedo, Commissioner, SEC
• Rep. Bryan Poe Llamanzares, House of Representatives
• Luis Miguel Planas, Assistant Secretary, DICT

Before leading the oath-taking of new members, Rep. Bryan Poe Llamanzares highlighted importance of the council.

“To keep up with the times while doing it properly, that is the purpose of the Blockchain Council of the Philippines.” – Rep. Bryan Poe Llamanzares on the subject of blockchain being used for good and evil.

New Board of Trustees Announced

The Oath Taking of the New BCP Board of Trustees also took place at the event which included the following (from left to right):

DICT Assistant Secretary Luis Miguel Planas delivered an inspiring talk:

He mentioned blockchain updates within the Government which included:

• Blockchain Budget Bill 1330 filed in Senate
• 📑 DBM Action Document Releasing System launched using blockchain
• 🏙 Baguio Smart City Project integrating blockchain solutions

He underscored blockchain’s potential to:

✅ Reduce corruption
✅ Secure processes
