 We’ve gathered some crucial details about Apple’s latest product offering, which many fans have long waited for. If you’re thinking about whether you should get it, here’s what we’ve learned so far. 

iPhone 13 Models

The iPhone 13 lineup includes four models: iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. All four phones run on iOS 15.

However, the new phones vary in size, storage, price, and several other key features. We’ve made an apples-to-apples comparison of the 2021 iPhone 13 models to help you decide if you’re planning to get one soon.

Screen Size and Weight

The iPhone 13 phones are similar to the size screens of the iPhone 12 series. 

According to Apple’s official website, the iPhone 13 Mini has a 5.4-inch display. Meantime, both the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro have a 6.1-inch screen. 

The iPhone 13 Pro Max has the largest screen, with a 6.7-inch display. Both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone Pro Max have Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion.

In terms of weight, the iPhone 13 Mini is the lightest at 140 grams. The iPhone 13 weighs 173 grams, while the iPhone 13 Pro weighs 203 grams. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is the heaviest at 238 grams.

Camera

iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini

All new models have an enhanced 12-megapixel main camera, an improved sensor, an ultrawide lens, and the new A15 Bionic chip 4-core GPU.

When it comes to the camera system, both the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini got an update, apparent in their rear cameras’ diagonal orientation.

According to Apple, this new orientation seeks to allow a new sensor-based stabilization system, which was previously only on the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The iPhone 13 and 13 Mini models also have 2x optical zoom out, digital zoom up to 5x, auto image stabilization, night mode, and wide color capture.

For video recording, both models have a cinematic mode with a shallow depth of field (1080p at 30 fps). They are also capable of HDR video recording with Dolby Vision up to 4K at 60 fps, time‑lapse video with stabilization, and night mode time-lapse.

iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 ProMax

Both the iPhone Pro and iPhone 13 ProMax have telephoto, wide, and ultra-wide lenses. They have a 6x optical zoom range and support Dolby Vision HDR video recording up to 4K at 60 fps.

The two models also boast the LiDAR Scanner for faster autofocus in low light, night mode portraits, and next-level AR experiences.

Both models, including the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini, also have the Cinematic mode that automatically creates focus transitions and depth effects.

Battery Life

iPhone 13’s big leap in battery life is probably its most notable feature. While Apple didn’t divulge its size, it claims that the iPhone 13 has up to 2.5 hours of additional battery life than the iPhone 12. 

Apple noted that you could notice the 2.5-hour extra battery in the iPhone 13 Pro. The iPhone 13 Mini and Pro Max, on the other hand, are expected to get 1.5 hours extra battery life than the iPhone 12 Mini.

Colors

If you’re looking for brand new colors for the latest iPhone, you won’t be disappointed. The iPhone 13 lineup comes in some bold new colors like Sierra Blue and an in-demand pink hue.

Release Date

Generally, Apple follows a pattern when launching a brand new line of products. According to news reports, the new iPhone 13 models will sell on September 24 in the United States.
