On December 8, 2024, Dior unveiled its latest architectural marvel, the Dior Gold House, located in the upscale Ploenchit district of Bangkok. This concept store is not merely a retail space; it represents a harmonious fusion of French elegance and Thai craftsmanship, designed to offer visitors an immersive experience that transcends traditional shopping.
Inspired by the iconic Dior townhouse at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris, the Gold House spans 1,000 square meters and is adorned with a stunning golden facade that symbolizes opulence and luxury.
The design of the Dior Gold House is a testament to both contemporary creativity and the rich heritage of haute couture. The structure features a facade embellished with over a million handmade gold mosaic tiles, echoing the grandeur of Dior’s Parisian flagship.
It includes intricate details such as 300 faux windows and a mansard roof, creating a visual spectacle that stands out amidst Bangkok’s bustling urban landscape. The interior design further reflects Dior’s signature aesthetic, combining natural materials like bamboo and wood to create an inviting atmosphere that showcases the brand’s diverse collections.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the Dior Gold House is its commitment to celebrating Thai artistry. The space features works from seven prominent Thai artists who have contributed furniture and decorative elements that enhance the overall experience.
For instance, Korakot Aromdee has created breathtaking three-dimensional bamboo artworks that adorn the cafe area, while Savin Saima has crafted delicate bamboo filigree pieces reminiscent of Dior’s iconic Lady Dior bags. This collaboration not only highlights local craftsmanship but also integrates it into the global narrative of luxury fashion.
Visitors to the Gold House can indulge in gourmet experiences at Café Dior, which offers a menu curated by three-Michelin-star chef Mauro Colagreco. The café’s decor mirrors the beauty of nature, featuring bamboo artwork that creates a serene dining atmosphere.
This culinary venture is designed to complement the shopping experience, allowing guests to savor exquisite French desserts amidst an artistic backdrop. The blend of fashion and gastronomy at Café Dior exemplifies Dior’s holistic approach to luxury retail.
Interestingly, the Dior Gold House is intended to be a temporary installation, set to operate for two years before being dismantled. This ephemeral nature adds an element of exclusivity and urgency for visitors wishing to experience this unique fusion of fashion and art. As part of its evolving concept, the store will adapt its offerings in line with seasonal collections designed by creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Kim Jones.
Dior’s Gold House in Bangkok represents more than just a new retail location; it is a bold statement about the future of luxury shopping. By intertwining high fashion with local craftsmanship and culinary excellence, Dior has created a space that invites exploration and appreciation.
As Thailand’s luxury market continues to grow—projected to reach $2.4 billion this year—the Gold House stands as a beacon of innovation within this vibrant landscape. It not only reaffirms Dior’s commitment to artistry but also celebrates Thailand’s rich cultural heritage, making it a must-visit destination for both fashion enthusiasts and art lovers alike.
