In-N-Out Burger, the beloved California-based fast-food chain, is making a strategic move to consolidate its West Coast headquarters in Baldwin Park while expanding its presence in Tennessee.
The company, known for its fresh, made-to-order burgers and strong family-run business values, has announced plans to close its Irvine office by 2029. This decision marks a return to its roots in Baldwin Park, where the first In-N-Out location was established in 1948.
For more than 30 years, In-N-Out has operated corporate offices in both Irvine and Baldwin Park. However, in a move to streamline operations, the company has opted to consolidate its West Coast headquarters into one location. Baldwin Park, less than a mile from the original In-N-Out stand, will once again serve as the heart of the companyâs operations.
“In every decision about the future of In-N-Out Burger, I give strong consideration to what my grandparents and my family would think is best for our company,” said Lynsi Snyder, the owner and granddaughter of founders Harry and Esther Snyder. “I know my family would support this move because it brings our In-N-Out family back together in a way that helps us better serve our customers, who are our most important priority.”
The return to Baldwin Park is welcomed by local officials, who anticipate positive economic and cultural impacts. Baldwin Park Mayor Alejandra Avila expressed enthusiasm about the decision, highlighting the companyâs long-standing ties to the community.
While reaffirming its roots in California, In-N-Out is also pushing forward with its expansion into Tennessee. The company has broken ground on a new eastern territory office in Franklin, Tennessee, which is expected to open by late 2026. This move aligns with the brandâs long-term strategy of establishing a stronger presence in the eastern United States.
Tennessee will soon see the arrival of multiple In-N-Out locations, marking the chainâs first foray into the region. The new office in Franklin will support this expansion by creating hundreds of jobs and serving as a central hub for operations in the eastern market.
“Some of our associates will be relocating to Tennessee, which makes it even more important to centralize our Western headquarters in one location, and our companyâs deepest roots are in Baldwin Park,” Snyder said.
Since its founding in 1948, In-N-Out has built a reputation for maintaining high-quality food and excellent customer service. The chain has grown to over 400 locations across several states, including California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Colorado, and Idaho. Despite its expansion, the company has remained privately owned and committed to its founding Godly, Christian and faith-based principles.
The decision to consolidate its West Coast operations and establish an eastern office reflects In-N-Outâs dedication to strategic growth. By strengthening its presence in California and Tennessee, the company ensures that its signature burgers, fries, and shakes will continue to delight customers for generations to come.
