Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have issued a statement on the recent takeover of terrorist group, Taliban, in Afghanistan.

The message came after Harry recently issued a joint statement with Dominic Reid about the country’s current disposition.

Harry and Meghan stressed that they were “left speechless” and “devastated” when the US military decided to pull out after U.S President Joe Biden ordered troops to withdraw from the country.

The joint statement read, “The world is exceptionally fragile right now. As we all feel the many layers of pain due to the situation in Afghanistan, we are left speechless.”

“When any person or community suffers, a piece of each of us does so with them, whether we realize it or not. And though we are not meant to live in a state of suffering, we, as a people, are being conditioned to accept it. It’s easy to find ourselves feeling powerless, but we can put our values into action — together,” they said.

The couple continued to underscore, “To start, we encourage you to join us in supporting a number of organizations doing critical work. We also urge those in positions of global influence to rapidly advance the humanitarian dialogues that are expected to take place this fall at multilateral gatherings such as the UN General Assembly and the G20 Leaders` Summit.”

“As an international community, it is the decisions we make now, to alleviate suffering among those we know and those we may never meet, that will prove our humanity,” Harry and Meghan added.

The couple also listed a link to the Women for Afghan Women organization, which  provides shelters for Afghan women and children.

One may recall that on Sunday, August 15, Taliban insurgents  captured Afghanistan’s capital Kabul in 10 days, after 20 years of war. The militant group has already seized 18 out of 34 provinces in the country.

In a recent interview with ABC News, Biden announced he is willing to let U.S troops remain in Afghanistan until all American citizens are evacuated, even if it means going beyond the withdrawal deadline.
