Samsung Electronics introduced the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 today, unveiling fresh mobile encounters enhanced by Galaxy AI.

Samsung states that the Galaxy S series is at the forefront of ushering in a transformative era that will permanently alter the way mobile devices enhance user capabilities. AI or Artificial Intelligence enhances nearly every aspect of the Galaxy S24 series, ranging from facilitating seamless communication through intelligent text and call translations to optimizing creative possibilities with Galaxy’s ProVisual Engine. It also establishes a groundbreaking benchmark for search functionality, revolutionizing how Galaxy users explore the world around them.

One of the features is that Galaxy AI brings purposeful intelligence to improve various aspects of life, with a particular focus on enhancing the core function of the phone: communication. Overcoming language barriers is now more accessible than ever with the Galaxy S24. Engage in conversations with fellow students or colleagues from different countries, and make reservations while on vacation abroad. Live Translate enables two-way, real-time voice and text translations for phone calls directly within the native app. This feature operates without the need for third-party apps, and on-device AI ensures the privacy of conversations.

Interpreter allows real-time translation of live conversations through a split-screen view, enabling individuals facing each other to read a text transcription of the spoken words. This functionality operates seamlessly without the need for cellular data or Wi-Fi.

In handling messages and various applications, Chat Assist can assist in refining conversational tones, ensuring that communication reflects the intended sentiment, be it a courteous message to a colleague or a concise and engaging phrase for a social media caption. The AI integrated into the Samsung Keyboard can also provide real-time translation of messages in 13 languages. Additionally, while in the car, Android Auto will automatically condense incoming messages and propose pertinent replies and actions, such as sharing your estimated time of arrival (ETA), enabling you to stay connected while maintaining focus on the road.

Following the capture of impressive shots, the innovative Galaxy AI editing tools facilitate uncomplicated adjustments, such as removing elements, recomposing, and enhancing the overall quality of the image.

To simplify and enhance optimizations, Edit Suggestion utilizes Galaxy AI to recommend well-suited adjustments for each photo. For increased creative control and flexibility, Generative Edit allows users to fill in parts of an image background using generative AI. 

When a picture is uneven, AI can fill in the borders, and if an object requires slight adjustment for the perfect position, AI enables users to reposition the subject while generating a seamlessly blended background in its original location. When generative AI is applied to enhance an image on the Galaxy S24, a watermark will be visible on the image and in the metadata. Additionally, for action-packed videos that need slowing down, the new Instant Slow-mo feature can generate additional frames based on movements, creating a smoother slowdown of high-energy moments for a more detailed view.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Google Cloud have revealed a fresh multi-year collaboration to introduce Google Cloud’s generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology to Samsung smartphone users worldwide. Beginning with the newly announced Samsung Galaxy S24 series at Galaxy Unpacked in San Jose, California, Samsung is set to become the inaugural Google Cloud partner to implement Gemini Pro and Imagen 2 on Vertex AI through the cloud for their smartphone devices.

“Google and Samsung have long shared deeply held values around the importance of making technology more helpful and accessible for everyone. We’re thrilled that the Galaxy S24 series is the first smartphone equipped with Gemini Pro and Imagen 2 on Vertex AI,” stated Janghyun Yoon, Corporate Executive Vice President, and Head of the Software Office of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, in a press release. 

“After months of rigorous testing and competitive evaluation, the Google Cloud and Samsung teams worked together to deliver the best Gemini-powered AI experience on Galaxy,” he also added.
