Sanctus Real Steps In to Headline Canadian Tour After Newsboys Exit

The revival nights tour is getting a meaningful refresh. Christian rock band Sanctus Real has officially stepped in to headline the Canadian leg of the 2025 tour, following the unexpected departure of the Newsboys. The change, announced by tour promoter Faith Live, reflects a redirection rooted in faith, prayer, and an unwavering commitment to ministry.
Originally set to feature the Newsboys across several cities in Canada, the tour faced significant logistical challenges after longtime frontman Michael Tait announced his exit earlier this year.
The resulting lack of clarity left fans uncertain and organizers grappling with a restructured plan. Despite efforts to continue with new lead vocalist Adam Agee, Faith Live ultimately made the difficult decision to cancel the Newsboys’ appearances and reimagine the lineup.
Enter Sanctus Real—a band well-loved for their heartfelt lyrics, honest worship, and enduring message of hope. With a legacy that spans more than two decades, the Ohio-based group is known for hit songs like Confidence, Lead Me, and My God Is Still the Same. Their inclusion promises a revival not just in name, but in spirit.
“This isn’t just a replacement—it’s a calling,” shared Faith Live in a recent social media post. “Sanctus Real’s heart for worship and authenticity is exactly what this moment needs.”
Tour dates have been revised, with stops now confirmed in Kelowna (May 31), Calgary (June 2), Winnipeg (June 6), and Chatham (June 13). Faith Live encourages previous ticket holders to seek updates regarding refunds or exchanges and assures fans that the team is committed to delivering a meaningful experience in each city.
Though the transition was not without its challenges, both the promoter and Sanctus Real have approached it with humility and faith. The band expressed gratitude for the opportunity and readiness to step into a season of ministry across Canada.
“We want people to see God’s strength in our weakness,” drummer Mark Graalman shared in an interview. “Being real matters.”
Lead vocalist Dustin Lolli echoed this heart, recalling the impact of their music on listeners. “It doesn’t matter the size of the venue—every night, someone comes up and says, ‘That song changed my life.’ That’s why we do what we do.”
Behind the scenes, Faith Live emphasized that the decision was not taken lightly. Founder Sheena Hennink pointed to months of prayer and discernment, saying the team chose “obedience over comfort.” While the sudden exit of Tait left a gap, organizers say they believe God is already redeeming what was lost.
“This is about stewardship—of relationships, resources, and trust,” their statement reads. “We’re learning, we’re listening, and we’re hopeful.”
What began as a setback may now open the door to something even greater. With Sanctus Real at the helm, Revival Nights in Canada is poised to deliver an experience rooted in worship, unity, and the enduring power of song.
