After four years being together as a married couple, it was rumored that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s romantic and marital relationship is on the rocks and reportedly divorcing. 

Joe Jonas is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He rose to fame as a member of the pop rock band “Jonas Brothers,” alongside his brothers Kevin and Nick. As of the moment, he is currently the lead singer of the DNCE band. The said musical boy group is an American dance-rock band consisting of him, drummer Jack Lawless, and guitarist JinJoo Lee.

Meanwhile, Sophie Belinda Turner is an English actress. She made her acting debut as Sansa Stark in the HBO epic fantasy television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019), for which she received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019. She was also known to be the young Jean Grey / Phoenix in the X-Men film series (2016–2019).

Fans and supporters were shocked when American entertainment outlet TMZ reported that the 34-year-old American pop singer allegedly contacted at least two legal counsels to file a divorce and end his marriage to Sophie. Another news and lifestyle website “People” also reported and confirmed that Jonas had sought advice to divorce lawyers. 

Joe and Sophie tied a knot in 2019. They have two daughters aged three and one.

According to TMZ, the couple  had “serious marital problems” for half a year. Over the past three months. It is said that Jonas has been caring for their young children “pretty much all of the time” even while touring the country with his brothers. 

However, netizens were also confused when Joe allegedly tried to dispel those rumors and speculations by posting a new photo on Instagram with his wedding band visible.

Eagle-eyed netizens noticed Sophie in the background of a groupie posted on Instagram, wearing bunny ears and standing just below Joe. The Instagram post was made by “Nadeeya Sula,” a designer. 

November 2016

DNCE performed at the MTV EMAs, and Joe was spotted sitting next to Sophie at a pre-MTV Europe Music Awards Kings of Leon concert at the Oude Luxor Theater almost embracing her, and allegedly kissing. Aside from that, they were seen at a friend’s wedding in Malibu alongside Nick Jonas. 

December 2016

The two were allegedly exclusively dating. Netizens were speculating that their relationship was already official but they are still hiding it to the public. 

January 2017

New year, new relationship! The actress posted a photo of the singer riding on the back of a boat while smoking a cigar, with a caption “Miami daze.” This sparked the idea that their relationship is already official. 

February 2017

Joe left a fire emoji on Sophie’s Instagram post showing her stunning photo when she went to a Louis Vuitton event. During that time, the singer attended the Grammys in Los Angeles, California. 

July 2017

The couple slowly started talking more about their relationship. In an interview with Sunday Times of United Kingdom, Sophie admitted that she is in a very private relationship. 

October 15, 2017

After one year being together, they announced their engagement with matching Instagram posts featuring the pear-cut diamond ring on Sophie’s finger.

“She said yes,” Joe said in the caption. 

“I said yes,” Sophie wrote.

The engaged couple enjoyed spending their holidays in London with Jonas’ family, alongside newly-married Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra.
