For the couple whose love story began on a tennis court, the Wimbledon-inspired celebration in Amadeo  came with a gift they never saw coming 

Newlyweds Dariz Kho and Emman Pelayo got a wedding surprise they will definitely never forget. In the  middle of their reception at Ad Meliora Countryside Garden in Amadeo, Cavite, James Reid walked  through the doors, took the mic, and turned their first night as husband and wife into a full-blown  celebration. 

The couple had no idea he was coming. As his personal gift to the two of them, the Palm Dreams  hitmaker performed a set led by the title track and “Attention” from his third studio album, Honey, I’m  Home, released last September 10. Of all the stages he could have chosen for one of his first live  performances for the album, he chose a wedding. And for a record that treats home not as a place, but  as a feeling of being with the people you choose to share your life with, there was no better room to  bring it to. 

Dariz and Emman’s own story began in the most ordinary of places. They first met at the Camp  Aguinaldo Tennis Court, where they happened to share the same tennis coach. One coach, a few rallies,  and the rest is history: they officially became a couple on January 7, 2024, and got engaged on  September 29, 2025. 

Tennis stayed at the heart of their story, so naturally it set the tone for the big day. The celebration went  full Wimbledon, with guests in crisp whites and greens and a glass garden pavilion glowing against the  Cavite countryside. It felt like a summer afternoon at the courts, only with more music and a whole lot  more love. 

When the multi-hyphenate superstar stepped up, the whole room turned to the couple. Warm, soulful,  and easy, his songs became the soundtrack of their first night as husband and wife, sung for the family  and friends who had been cheering them on since the very first serve. By the last song, the album title  sounded less like a title and more like a toast: for Dariz and Emman, home is wherever the other one is. 

“It’s not something I usually get to do, but the timing just lined up this time,” James shares. “Hearing  Dariz and Emman’s story, I was glad I could be a small part of their day. Seeing how happy they were  honestly made my night too. I wish them nothing but the best in this next chapter together.” 

For the bride, the surprise was one the whole room will be talking about for a long time. “Really grateful  to James for doing this,” says Dariz. “Our guests truly loved the experience. They can’t stop talking about  it!” 

For what it’s worth, the day was all about the people who brought Dariz and Emman together and the  life they’re just getting started on. James’s surprise set was simply one more way of raising a glass to  them. Or, as the couple might put it: game, set, match.
