Pangasinan’s Fourth District offers an all-expense-paid residency program through its latest arts, cultural, and creative initiative called the Anakbanwa Arts Residency Project.
Launched in October 2021, the program opens its doors for artists across all disciplines for a four to five-week residency program at the Tondaligan Beach, Dagupan City, Pangasinan.
During the program, the participants will conduct research and immerse themselves in creative communities and experience the district’s cultural heritage and ecological landscape.
Artists will also have the opportunity to learn from diverse artistic practices, and experience Pangasinan’s interior (alog) and coastal (baybay) municipalities.
The artists-in-residency program seeks to provide a platform for artists to explore the relationship between arts, creativity, and neighborhoods as they help address social and environmental issues through sustainable art practices.
Artists will also be given the opportunity to collaborate with diverse local artisans, craft makers, and the region’s emerging arts communities, and create context and site-specific work.
Apart from the outcome, the arts residency program also puts emphasis on the creative process as it aims to engage with the public through dialogical artistic expressions.
Two selected artists will get to enjoy a safe space at the Tondaligan Beach, where they can explore their curiosities and develop their works through the program’s resources.
They will also receive curatorial support and creation grants during the program, which will span between four to five weeks, beginning October to December 2021.
