Fans were ecstatic and thrilled by the trailer of the movie “The Idea of You,” starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine.

“The Idea of You,” adapted from the 2017 novel with the same name, features Galitzine alongside Anne’s as they delve into a passionate R-rated romance, partly influenced by the charisma of former boy band sensation Harry Styles.

In the upcoming movie slated for release on Amazon Prime in May, Anne portrays a 40-year-old single mother who has recently separated from her spouse. During a visit to a music festival with her daughter, she crosses paths with Galitzine’s character, a 24-year-old lead singer of a highly popular boy band. Their unlikely romance ignites amidst the backdrop of life’s challenges, societal judgment, and the burdens of fame.

The initial trailer for the mature romantic comedy has been released, featuring Anne Hathaway’s character, Solène, relaxing in the embrace of Hayes Campbell (played by Galitzine). Solène narrates their serendipitous encounter at Coachella, where she accompanied her daughter Izzy, portrayed by Ella Rubin (known for her role as one of the transfer minions in the Gossip Girl reboot). The first trailer for the movie was dropped last Wednesday, March 6.

Amazon Prime dropped the synopsis of the movie. It says, “When Solène (Anne Hathaway) must step in to chaperone her teenage daughter’s trip to the Coachella Music Festival after her ex bails at the last minute, she has a chance encounter with Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine) and there is an instant, undeniable spark.”

“As they begin a whirlwind romance, it isn’t long before Hayes’ superstar status poses unavoidable challenges to their relationship and Solène soon discovers that life in the glare of his spotlight might be more than she bargained for.”

As mentioned. the romantic movie is adapted from Robinne Lee’s best-selling novel with the same title, where Lee responded to speculations suggesting that the book was inspired by Harry Styles from One Direction.

In a Vogue interview from 2020, Lee mentioned, “This was never supposed to be a book about Harry Styles. It was supposed to be a story about a woman approaching 40 and reclaiming her sexuality and rediscovering herself, just at the point that society traditionally writes women off as desirable and viable and whole.”

However, she also expressed that the initial inspiration for the book came when, in 2017, she was browsing through music videos on YouTube and came across some footage of the band One Direction. One of the members, Styles, particularly caught her attention, and after conducting some research, she discovered that he had a history of dating older women.

She clarified that while Styles influenced the novel as an initial muse, she hesitated to say he directly inspired the male character, stating that “inspired” might be too strong a word when asked if the character was modeled after the pop star.
