Chinese Mainland claimed Best Feature Film and Best Drama Series in an enthralling Asian Academy Creative Awards ceremony in Singapore tonight.

‘MuMu’ then “Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty: To The West” claimed the coveted scripted double when Chinese Mainland edged out Korea’s highly fancied ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’ by just .06 in the tense final award.

Singapore’s Ivory Chia (9 years) stunned when she became the youngest winning actress in AACA
history, claiming a tense tiebreaker vote for Best Actress in a Supporting Role (‘Emerald Hill: The
Little Nonya Story’).

The big wins didn’t end there, with Japan’s ‘The Queen of Villains’ lead actress, Yuriyan Retriever, scoring victory over the likes of Cate Blanchett (Australia) and Minha Kim (Korea). The Netflix women’s pro wrestling series also collected Best Direction (Fiction).

11 Nations and Territories notched up wins across 40 categories, underscoring a tight competition where the top 6 or seven contenders were often separated by a single point.
The Winners Tally (By Nation/Territory)
6 – Japan, Singapore
5 – Korea, India
4 – Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong (SAR)
3 – Taiwan
2 – Australia, Malaysia, Philippines
1 – Thailand

Hong Kong SAR claimed 4 golden Goddess statuettes amid a sombre show of industry support
following last week’s tragic fires.

Prime Video’s ‘The Traitors India’ and Netflix drama ‘Black Warrant’ took home two statuettes each including Karan Johor for Best Entertainment Host.

Korea claimed 5 wins including Best Comedy, Best General Entertainment (‘MAMA Awards’) and Best Original Production by a Streamer for ‘Study Group’.

Australia (In Films), Japan (NHK) and Singapore (Mediacorp) claimed hard fought documentary wins while India’s Amish Tripathi was awarded Best Factual Host for Warner Brothers Discovery.

Staged at Singapore’s historic Capitol Theatre, the prestigious ACCA is the largest showcase of AsiaPacific content and creatives in the world.
