Similarly, other provinces and HUCs mirrored the economic strides of the Summer Capital of the Philippines. Cities such as Cebu City, Davao City, Mandaue City, and provinces including Laguna and Batanes boasted per capita GDPs exceeding the national average. In 2022, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported an uptick in the per capita GDP of nearly all provinces and Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs) across the country. Following Aklan, notable increases were observed in cities such as Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, and Nueva Vizcaya, registering growth rates of 12.8 percent, 12.1 percent, and 12.0 percent, respectively.
