A native of Cagayan, the Hawaii-based beauty and lifestyle influencer Bretman Rock went to Manila for a book signing event at two venues: SM Megamall (March 4) and SM Mall of Asia (March 5).

The internet sensation wrote the memoir ‘You’re That B*tch: And Other Cute Lessons About Being Unapologetically Yourself’ which goes back to his childhood days in the province of Cagayan up until his shot to fame in the United States.

He dedicated his success to his younger self. “This is all because of a little Filipino bakla [gay] who dreamed he was gonna be artista [celebrity] one day,” the 24-year-old content creator posted on his Instagram account.

Bretman was wearing a red orange sleeveless printed top and jeans on the first day of the book signing. He didn’t seem impatient and even made small talk with those who had their books signed, smiling at them and hugging them warmly as they had their photos taken with him.

On the second day, he wore a very skin revealing sleeveless apron dress with little holes in it, and gray pants. Screams erupted in both venues as soon as he set foot onstage and he blew kisses to the crowd every now and then. He even joked and covered his chest with his hands because the cloth was thin.

Tiktok influencer Marvin Fojas recounted his funny encounter with the beauty influencer wherein he thought that the latter knew him personally because he was called by his name, but it turned out that prior to one’s turn, Bretman’s really informed of who’s who so they can be addressed personally, and their names can be written personally as a dedication on the book together with the internet sensation’s signature. “Hindi na rin ako nakapag-small talk sa kanya kasi nahiya na ako,” said Marvin.

Bretman seemed to have had the time of his life during his short visit to the Philippines, as a netizen spotted him dancing to Jessie J’s ‘Laserlight’ with a drag performer on the stage of O bar, one of the famous gay bars in Metro Manila, a few days ago.

Prior to the book signing event, the internet sensation made a couple of social media posts indicating that he went back to his hometown in Cagayan. He also promised to return to the Philippines so it would not be surprising if Bretman guests in some television shows within the year or holds a fan meeting.
