Fans of James Reid have something new to look forward to as the star collaborated with the Skatebomb Girls in a documentary about roller skating. 

The actor-singer made the announcement during a presscon at the Kondwi Restaurant at Makati, Poblacion last July 17.

“This whole collaboration came to be because of Johnny Walker. I had an idea and they came in to bring together different subcultures. I hope people understand how important this kind of collaboration is.” 

The film tackles the hurdles of what the Skatebomb Girls and other roller skating enthusiasts face in the country. James was also seen skating around flawlessly, which he learned in just two weeks. 

“Giving a platform to two different sub-cultures and highlighting two different unique aspects of Filipino culture, like the Skatebomb Girls. They are very under represented. Honestly, it was an honor to create such a fun project with Johnny Walker and Vice.”

When asked if he misses acting the singer replied, “I do miss acting, sometimes. But for now, I’m having a lot of fun creating this kind of collaboration and bringing new aspects in music and skating.”

“Roller skating might not be for everyone, just like any other sport. But what really got me into it was the community that surrounded it. It’s really fun. It’s so carefree and very expressive,” he added. 

Apart from his current collab, he shared other projects he is looking forward to in the future. “I definitely want to explore international collaborations. I’m very excited.”
