Tom Ford has unveiled John David Washington as the face of its latest fragrance, Bois Pacifique, marking a new chapter in the brand’s legacy of luxury and sophistication. Known for his commanding presence on screen, Washington brings his signature intensity and authenticity to the campaign, which explores the connection between self-discovery and nature.

Shot in the breathtaking landscapes of Big Sur, California, the campaign captures Washington on a journey of introspection, seamlessly blending cinematic storytelling with the essence of Tom Ford’s refined aesthetic.

The visuals, directed by acclaimed photographer David Sims, depict Washington navigating winding coastal roads, pausing amid towering redwoods, and immersing himself in the natural world. The campaign’s narrative—a man reconnecting with his inner self through the power of nature—mirrors the fragrance’s ethos of bold, unfiltered expression.

Bois Pacifique is a tribute to the untamed beauty of the Pacific coast, crafted with a sophisticated blend of woody and spicy notes. Sandalwood, cedar, and oakwood form the fragrance’s foundation, evoking the deep, earthy aroma of a forest at dawn.

These classic elements are enhanced by exotic additions such as cardamom, akigalawood, and turmeric, creating a warm yet invigorating scent profile. The inclusion of akigalawood—a modern fragrance molecule derived from a fermented process—demonstrates Tom Ford’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

As the 133rd fragrance in the Tom Ford Beauty collection, Bois Pacifique continues the brand’s legacy of olfactory excellence. With male consumers now accounting for half of Tom Ford’s fragrance revenue, Washington’s appointment signals the brand’s dedication to engaging a sophisticated, modern audience.

John David Washington, son of legendary actor Denzel Washington, has forged his own path in Hollywood, earning critical acclaim for roles in BlacKkKlansman, Tenet, and Malcolm & Marie. His ability to convey depth and emotion made him a natural fit for the Bois Pacifique campaign, which required more than just a polished appearance—it demanded a performance that resonated with the brand’s essence of self-assured masculinity.

Washington himself embraced the campaign’s vision, describing the experience as “filming a movie-slash-documentary.” The organic approach to storytelling, combined with the raw beauty of Big Sur, allowed him to fully embody the character of a man rediscovering his artistic spirit. “We didn’t fake it. We were there, in the natural locations, which a lot of studio films don’t even do,” he noted.

Tom Ford’s selection of Washington as its new ambassador reflects a shift toward a more narrative-driven approach to luxury branding. The campaign is not just about selling a fragrance—it’s about evoking a mood, an experience, and a lifestyle. Through Washington’s portrayal, Bois Pacifique becomes more than a scent; it is a symbol of renewal, confidence, and the enduring allure of nature.

With this campaign, Tom Ford once again proves why it remains at the forefront of the fragrance industry, seamlessly merging timeless elegance with contemporary storytelling.
