Clockenflap delivered an eclectic lineup of top international, regional and local acts across six stages at Central Harbourfront in a three-day event.
Jarvis Cocker-fronted Britpop icons PULP topped the bill with a spectacular headline set on the Harbourflap Stage, which also played host to hip-hop legends De La Soul, acclaimed U.S. singer-songwriter Caroline Polachek and chart-topping Australian vocalist Tones and I.
The Orbit Stage once again showcased a diverse mix of musical genres and styles, including a headline set by influential Chinese alternative rockers Omnipotent Youth Society, British alternative-indie act PREP and high-energy Japanese girl group Atarashii Gakko!.
There were more big names and memorable sets on the festival’s other stages, with local hip-hop crew Yack Studio, Welsh multi-instrumentalist Novo Amor and British post-punks Squid performing at the Tommy Stage, while Berlin-based DJ/producer Cinthie and British electronic legend Darren Emerson kept the dance floor packed at the Electriq Stage.
In addition to six stages of music, the festival also presented a full programme of arts attractions that included Anne Cubberly’s Giant Puppets, an intriguing mobile confessional booth by Open Call winner Heart to Heart and a selection of abstract and psychedelic films courtesy of Relentless Melt No. 30.
