The LVMH Prize, a prestigious award in the fashion world, has unveiled the eight finalists for its 2025 edition, showcasing a diverse range of talents from across the globe. These designers were selected from 20 semi-finalists after a rigorous presentation process during Paris Fashion Week.
The LVMH Prize continues to be a key platform for emerging designers, offering not only financial support but also mentorship, providing a springboard for the next generation of fashion innovators.
This year’s finalists hail from six countries, representing a broad spectrum of cultural influences and creative approaches. They are Alainpaul (France), All-In by Benjamin Barron and Bror August Vestbø (United States and Norway), Francesco Murano (Italy), Soshiotsuki by Soshi Otsuki (Japan), Steve O Smith (United Kingdom), Tolu Coker (United Kingdom), Torishéju by Torishéju Dumi (United Kingdom), and Zomer by Danial Aitouganov (Netherlands).
Alainpaul, led by French designer Alain Paul, has garnered attention for its inventive sculptural forms across women’s, men’s, and unisex collections. The brand combines a contemporary vision with sophisticated tailoring.
All-In, the collaborative effort between American Benjamin Barron and Norwegian Bror August Vestbø, presents a fusion of creativity that combines whimsical designs with bold, oversized accessories. Their collections, featuring luxurious gowns adorned with giant pearl necklaces, embody a playful yet refined aesthetic.
Francesco Murano from Italy stands out for his extraordinary draping techniques, showcasing a deep understanding of fabric manipulation. Murano’s work focuses on creating intricate shapes and structures that highlight the designer’s mastery of tailoring.
Soshiotsuki, the menswear label from Japanese designer Soshi Otsuki, captivates with a distinctive blend of minimalism and avant-garde style. Otsuki’s designs are deeply influenced by Japanese cultural heritage, fused with a modern twist that challenges conventional menswear norms.
Steve O Smith’s collections, from the United Kingdom, are a study in deconstruction and graphic design. Known for their cut-out details and dynamic forms, Smith’s work reimagines traditional silhouettes, creating an edgy and bold visual language.
Tolu Coker, also from the UK, draws inspiration from African iconography and prints, integrating them into contemporary, fashion-forward designs. Her collections reflect a vibrant celebration of identity and craftsmanship, creating a unique dialogue between tradition and modernity.
Torishéju Dumi, another London-based designer, brings a sense of grandeur to both women’s and men’s collections. His designs are defined by dynamic silhouettes and bold statement pieces, which pushes boundaries and creates fashion that is both dramatic and wearable.
Finally, Danial Aitouganov’s brand Zomer from the Netherlands is known for its consistently strong shows in Paris. Aitouganov’s designs are marked by a perfect balance of sophistication and edginess, with an emphasis on luxury materials and cutting-edge tailoring.
The LVMH Prize is not only a celebration of individual talent but also a testament to the evolving global fashion landscape.
