Kapamilya actress Elisse Joson stands up for her partner and “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” villain McCoy de Leon, shielding him from hurtful remarks and unfair judgment from critics.

On June 5, 2024, the celebrity mother expressed her gratitude on her social media platforms to honor the individual who restored her faith in genuine affection.

Elisse starts her sincere message on her Instagram post by recognizing the often-overlooked traits in McCoy. She admires his gentle demeanor, commitment to being a father, and skill in managing numerous roles and obligations.

“Not everyone will understand.. how good of a person u are, how soft of a man u are, how u manage to become a father in ur 20’s, how freedom was taken from u in ur prime, how ur still finding yourself, how hard ur trying to be the best partner for me, how hard ur working to provide for us, how ur learning to become a family man, how u still do ur best do be a brother and a son all at the same time,” published as is. 

The ex-Pinoy Big Brother housemate and Star Magic artist reassures him that his sacrifices are valued, despite ongoing criticism of their relationship from detractors.

“Hindi nakikita ng lahat.. na sinasabayan mo ko sa lahat ng trip ko, na pinag-iisa mo ang ating dalawang mundo, na inaaral mo ako, na nagaadjust ka at nagbabago araw araw, na tinuturuan mo ko lagi maging “mas” maging better, na mawalan ka na sa pangsarili, maibigay mo lang sa iba, na malalim ang pinanggagalingan mo, na tayo ay dalawang tao na patuloy pa ding lumalaki, lumalago, natututo, lalo sa pagiging magulang, na ako ay pinoprotektahan mo hanggang huli, na tayo ay nagkakamali, na ikaw ay nagkamali, na AKO ay nagkamali”

She continued, “at hindi lahat parepareho ng pamamaraan ng pag hilom ng mga sugat. Sometimes we don’t even know how to take away the pain. I’m sorry I put u through this. Heal. for me and felize, he is our strength. He is our family. He is what felize has. Mccoy ko, These pictures are not enough. But I hope these moments remind u that for the people that matter.. we see u, we hear u, we appreciate u.”

As she wraps up her letter, accompanied by several touching photos, she encourages netizens to be more thoughtful about the labels they attribute to McCoy.

“Don’t put him in a category. Don’t put him in a box. He’s a person. Not any label or description u put him into. A person worthy of being known for himself as a whole. Not his past, not his mistakes, not whatever u see him as. Mccoy” just “mccoy” A human being just like u. But for me and felize, he is our strength. He is our family. He is what felize has. Once again, Elisse speaks to McCoy: “Mccoy ko, These pictures are not enough. But I hope these moments remind u that for the people that matter.. we see u, we hear u, we appreciate u,” she added. 

The couple have experienced a fluctuating relationship since their PBB stint in 2017. In January 2023, they parted ways after reports surfaced of McCoy’s involvement with social media influencer Mary Joy Santiago, who is also a talent under Viva, the same agency as McCoy.

But after several months, they resolved the issue and went back to each other’s arms again. On April 10, 2021, their lives were blessed with the arrival of their firstborn daughter, Felize McKenzie Joson de Leon.
