But, who is he?

Enrique K. Razon, Jr. is one of the most influential and successful business magnates in the Philippines. As the chairman and president of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), he leads one of the world’s leading global port management companies, with operations spanning across various continents. Razon’s vision and expertise have been instrumental in propelling ICTSI’s growth and prominence in the logistics industry, making him a key player in the global supply chain.

Early Career and Leadership at ICTSI

Razon’s involvement in the family business began early, and he ascended to leadership at ICTSI in the late 1990s. Under his stewardship, ICTSI expanded from a single port operation in Manila to a global player with terminals in strategic locations across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. His ability to identify and capitalize on emerging market opportunities has been critical to the company’s expansion and success.

His foundation has been actively involved in providing aid during natural disasters in the Philippines, such as typhoons and earthquakes. Additionally, he has made significant contributions to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, including vaccine procurement and distribution in the Philippines.

Razon also leads the ICTSI Foundation, Inc., responsible for managing the corporate social responsibility initiatives of the ICTSI Group. He has been a long-standing supporter of golf in the Philippines through the Philippine Golf Tour, sponsored by the sports management company Pilipinas Golf Tournaments Inc. (PGTI), where he serves as chairman. Additionally, Razon aids the growth of amateur golf in the country through the ICTSI-The Country Club program, which is backed by the ICTSI Foundation.

In 2003, Razon contributed P50 million towards sports development at De La Salle University. The P50 million was allocated as follows: P25 million for the equipment and facilities of the Enrique M. Razon Sports Complex, named after his father; P20 million for athletic scholarships; and P5 million for a sports solidarity fund.
