The “Orphan” franchise, known for its chilling narratives and unexpected twists, is set to expand with the upcoming film “Orphan 3.” Following the success of its prequel, “Orphan: First Kill”, which garnered both audience intrigue and box office success, the anticipation for this new installment is palpable.

The announcement was made during the American Film Market, where Dark Castle Entertainment expressed confidence in continuing the saga of Esther’s devious exploits.

Norman Golightly, co-CEO of Dark Castle Entertainment, stated, With the past success of the first two movies and another thrilling storyline, we are confident that ‘Orphan 3’ will be a must-see movie for both current fans of the franchise and new fans alike. This sentiment reflects the franchise’s ability to attract both loyal viewers and newcomers intrigued by its unique horror elements.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, speculation suggests that “Orphan 3” may explore events occurring between the original film and its prequel. Given Esther’s fate at the end of “Orphan”, which saw her demise at the hands of her adoptive parents, the filmmakers will need to navigate timeline complexities carefully.

Some fans theorize that Esther could find yet another family to terrorize or that flashbacks could play a significant role in revealing more about her character.

The filmmakers have hinted at a darker tone for this third installment. Fuhrman has expressed enthusiasm for continuing to portray Esther, suggesting that there is much more depth to explore in her character’s psyche. I loved the twist because this is something that everybody expects when they see a sequel or a prequel… And all of a sudden, it just flips everything on its head, she remarked about her experience with “First Kill”.
