Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are going their separate ways after an alleged argument took place between the singer and the model’s mother, Yolanda Hadid.

On October 29, Gigi’s spokesperson told Us Weekly on Thursday that the supermodel is focused on what is best for their son Khai, and is asking for privacy.

Meanwhile, Yolanda’s representative has not given any statement regarding the matter.

Malik, on the other hand, adamantly denied any involvement in the alleged altercation with Yolanda.

The singer took to his Twitter account and said, “As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart. In an effort to protect that space for her I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.”

“This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to coparent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press,” he wrote on Thursday. “I am hopeful for healing and for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves,” he added.

However, Zayn recently filed a ‘no contest’ plea to four counts of harassment charges following the dispute, according to court documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter on Friday.

His no contest plea includes 360 days of probation — 90 days for each count — and is required to take anger management class and complete a domestic violence program.

On another note, Gigi’s sister, Bella, recently uploaded a cryptic post  about “working on yourself” after Zayn came out with his statement.

It can be recalled that the former celebrity couple have been an on-and-off again since 2015, then later on welcomed their daughter, Khai, in September 2020.
