Fans of James Reid were distraught when news circulated on social media that the actor had left the Philippines for good. 

The whole issue came about when James’ sister Chantal Calicdan posted photos and videos of her brother at the airport with their mother Emma MacDonald. James was seen hugging his family and waving goodbye to them before jetting off to the U.S.

A few of his friends also set up a send-off party for the celeb and uploaded some photos and videos of the event on their Instagram stories. He then received a warm welcome from his fans when he safely arrived at Los Angeles, California.

However, the star’s father Robert Reid assured netizens that James will be heading home to the Philippines and took to Instagram to explain why he left the country in the first place.

“With James at NAIA a few days ago. On his way to LA for recording sessions and to visit his brother Andrew. That’s it. Anything else is basura … sorry to disappoint the fake newsmakers.” 

It can be recalled that James was seen on the hit reality game show Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010. He was named the big winner of PBB then later on came into prominence for his role in the movies Talk Back And You’re Dead, Relax It’s Just Pag-ibig, and Beauty And The Bestie.  

He was then paired with sexy actress Nadine Lustre, and together they were dubbed as one of the most sought-out loveteams called “Jadine.”
