Tencent’s consistent #1 Honor of Kings in China takes the world by storm as it secured the #2 spot for top games by worldwide downloads growth. Launched in China in 2015, the game has held the #1 position on China’s iOS App Store revenue rankings for the past seven years—an impressive feat given the exclusion of Play Store rankings.

Its first overseas launch was in Brazil in March 2023. On June 20, 2024, the game claimed the #1 download spot including the Philippines. In celebration of the global release, players had a free trial run of the 85 initial heroes and the new hero Sun Ce within the first month, which can be obtained by participating in active events, allowing players to find heroes that best fit their style.

Players participating in specific game activities will also have the chance to unlock up to 28 heroes and 21 hero skins for free. Groundbreaking updates and collaborations are expected from Honor of Kings as millions of players join its servers, starting from localized community events and in-game items. Honor of Kings will have its first offsite booth activation at the Philippine Game Development Expo and upcoming collaborations with local hobby and games establishment SideQuest Cafe.

An exciting partnership between leisure and travel chain Hotel 101 is on the works also as the game teases the enablement of a new game feature. More exciting things can be expected as the game continues to evolve and expand in the Philippines.
