The 7 talented boys or Dream Chasers, who won ‘Dream Maker’, the first idol survival reality in the Philippines, were presented to the members of the media a few days ago as Hori7on, a boy group set to conquer the international stage.
In a few months, they’ll be flying off to Korea to train even harder for their performance debut. Hori7pn members consist of: Winston pineda, Marcus Cabais, Kyler Chua, Reyster Yton, Jeromy Batac, Kim Ng, and Vinci Malizon.
“Gustong-gusto ko na pong magperform sa global stage…world tour,” excitedly said Jeromy. Kim, on the other hand, is excited to see the Korean idols up close and gain more knowledge. “Naniniwala talaga ako na kapag pumupunta ka sa ibang bansa, like, na-a-adapt mo yung kultura nila,” he shared.
The name Hori7on was also decided via audience votes and it got more than 370,000 votes. Having overcome the challenges in the competition is just the first step in their journey as a group.
13-year-old Jeromy was declared rank 1 after he got 3,188,238 votes. Marcus came after him, who got 2,824,716 votes, then the controversial Kyler, who got 2,697,520 votes.
Signal song ‘Take My Hand’ center Vinci got rank 4 and had 2,447,877 votes and Reyster was rank 5 with 2,285,407 votes. Kim also obtained a spot which is rank 6 with 2,240,510 and Winston completed the group with 2,049,832 votes.
Marcus opened up about the struggles he had during the competition: “This definitely took a lot of time for me to accomplish and that was the time after mentor’s evaluation. I really like de-graded in my mentor’s points and I just definitely lost it at that time and gradually, I picked up my pace throughout the missions that’s why I’m very happy about that myself and I’m very, like, open about it.”
Vinci shared: “Isang defining momemt for me got me to a spot na inisip ko sa sarili kong I deserve a spot sa top 7 is yung performance ko sa ‘Odd Eye’. I mean, lahat naman ng performances ko, tinatry kong ipakita na deserving ako, but, I think, that’s what defined my position, I think, in the top, kasi, nung ginagawa ko yung choreo tsug tsug tsug (motions with his finger), andaming co-Dream Chasers ko yung nagpapaturo nung part na yun kasi parang gusto din nilang malaman.”
The program’s business unit head, Marcus Vinuya, revealed exactly the next steps of Hori7on. He said they’ll continue training here while waiting for their Korean visa then they’ll go abroad to futher hone their skills. Their target debut is within the year.
Because of the public’s warm response to ‘Dream Maker’, viewers should look forward to different collaboration projects of ABS-CBN, MLD Entertainment, and Kamp Korea Inc.
