Netizens are puzzled by Derek Ramsay’s Instagram post where he tagged his wife Ellen Adarna, alongside random photos of them together.

The caption reads, “Can’t wait @maria.elena.adarna Alam mo na! Lol”

Ellen replied, “When are u coming home ba???? Loll”

Netizens thus speculated that it might be about Ellen’s pregnancy with their first child together with Derek. Even ABS-CBN news anchor Karen Davila became excited about it.

“Awwww ❤️❤️ me too! Hehe,” the veteran broadcast journalist said.

Since 2021, photos and videos of Derek hanging out with Ellen have been circulating online, and netizens can’t seem to get enough of the two celebrities. The speculation began when their mutual friend actress-beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez shared videos and photos on January 11, 2021. In the footage, they appeared joyful as they danced playfully with family and close friends during a dinner party hosted by Derek.

Ruffa’s photos captured moments of Ellen and Derek gazing into each other’s eyes, sharing intimate moments, and Ellen meeting Derek Sr., the actor’s father. Despite the online circulation of these videos, there was no clear evidence of a romantic relationship. Initially, both Ellen and Derek denied the rumors, stating they were simply friends. Ruffa clarified that netizens should not read too much into the pairing, even though she posted photos of the two gazing intensely into each other’s eyes.

In response to the rumors, Ellen promptly denied them, stating that she is not romantically interested with Derek.

However, things changed when Derek disclosed in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph that he and Ellen had started dating a month later. According to the actor, they felt an instant connection, and every moment with Ellen is exciting and lively.

“We just really are enjoying each other’s company. Sobra. Like, walang dull moment. Sa isang month, meron na kaming tawanan. Meron na kaming tampuhan… lahat meron na,” Derek said in an interview. 

Moreover, in an interview with ‘Mega’ magazine, Derek disclosed that he was captivated by the actress from the very first moment they met.

When questioned about whether Ellen is “the one,” the Kapuso actor expressed that his heart strongly suggests he would regret not marrying her. That time, the ex-girlfriend of Derek was Kapuso actress Andrea Torres.

Staying true to his promise, Derek Ramsay proposed to Ellen Adarna on March 30, 2021, presenting her with a stunning pear-shaped diamond engagement ring. They subsequently married on November 11, 2021, at Rancho Bernardo Luxury Villas and Resort in Bagac, Bataan.
