News on social media are currently abuzz about the alleged similarity in the backgrounds of photos taken by Kapuso actress Kyline Alcantara and basketball player Kobe Paras.

According to the social media page “The Scoop,” “eagle-eyed netizens” have noticed several similarities in the Instagram stories of the two.

“‘HALA, ARE YOU WITH KOBE?’”

“‘Yan ang tanong ngayon ng mga Marites kay Kyline Alcantara dahil sa latest photos na in-upload niya sa IG na tila may similarity daw sa post ng basketball player na si Kobe Paras,” it can be read on the caption.

Netizens became even more intrigued about the real score between basketball player and Kapuso star last Thursday, May 30, when Kobe shared an Instagram Story of Kyline that featured some of her pictures.

And that’s not all—he even commented with a heart on Kyline’s post. Crazy, right?

Kobe Paras is the son of actor-comedian and basketball icon Benjie Paras and actress Jackie Forster.

Kobe, who has been concentrating on his athletic career, has kept his relationships private. However, he and Erika Poturnak publicly shared their romance online in 2022. This changed in March 2023. Erika’s mother, Ina Raymundo, revealed that Erika and Kobe had broken up. The reason was their inability to maintain a long-distance relationship. At that time, Erika was studying in the US, while Kobe was focused on his professional basketball training in Japan.

Kyline made headlines in the past due to her breakup with ex-boyfriend Mavy Legaspi. Their split, which they never formally announced, was surrounded by controversies. They started spending time together in 2021 and were known as the MavLine love team.

The couple’s breakup attracted attention after Kyline posted cryptic messages that netizens believed hinted at the reason for their split. On Friday, November 24, Kyline tweeted, “I knew it,” prompting various reactions from her followers.

Kyline and Mavy never addressed the issues surrounding their breakup. Fans eventually accepted that, for now, they wouldn’t be together in any projects.

In recent updates, singer-actor Darren Espanto disclosed that Kyline was his former girlfriend from their younger years. During an interview, he confessed that misunderstandings led to the end of their relationship. “There were some misunderstandings. When we both matured, parang six years later, napag-usapan na namin. And ayun po, eventually we became okay with each other again.”

Meanwhile, Kyline is poised to appear in the remake of “Shining Inheritance” alongside Kate Valdez, Paul Salas, Michael Sager, and Coney Reyes.

The original series featured Lee Seung Gi, Han Hyo Joo, Moon Chae Won, and Bae Soo Bin.

The storyline revolves around a woman from a wealthy family who loses everything abruptly following her father’s death.

Kyline began filming for the project in October and promptly received praise from the series’ director, Jorron Monroy.
