It’s Official: Joshua Garcia will be joining the Cast of Darna

Joshua Garcia’s fans have something to look forward to as the hunky actor is set to star in the much anticipated Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series.
It can be recalled that ABS-CBN made the announcement on their YouTube channel and Twitter page, Oct. 5. Joshua will portray the role of Jane de Leon’s love interest, officer Brian Samonte Robles, in the show.
Simon Ibarra, Kiko Estrada, Joj Agpangan, Richard Quan, Levi Ignacio, Mark Manicad, Yogo Singh, Young JV, LA Santos, Zeppi Borromeo, Marvin Yap, Tart Carlos, Gerald Acao and Rio Locsin, will also be joining the series.
The project will be directed by Chito Roño, who is known for directing television shows such as Spirits, Immortal, and Lastikman.
In an interview with ABSCBN, Chito stressed how thrilled he was to be working on this project. “I found the material very exciting. Ayoko na talaga mag-soap. Matagal ko nang iniwanan ang mundo ng soap.”
“When I heard the story, when I heard everything, nagustuhan ko. Tinanggap ko na rin. Pero siyempre ngayon, mas modern na ang technology, so mas bago na tingnan. Bago na ‘yung gagamitin namin. Hindi na ‘yung mga lumang technology. Exciting din ‘yun,” he added.
Filming for the series will be situated at the ABS-CBN sound stages in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan this November.
