Jadore Christ Channels His Faith into Fashion

Some designers find inspiration in art, history, or pop culture. For Paris-based designer Jadore Christ, his muse is something deeper—his faith. The creator of the clothing brand Adoption has built a label that merges style with spirituality, crafting pieces that reflect his beliefs and cultural heritage.

“It all started with prayer,” Christ shares. “One day, I felt called to create something that would help people express themselves while staying true to their identity.” That calling led to Adoption, a brand that blends contemporary streetwear with meaningful storytelling. His signature sweatshirts and hoodies, featuring images of Maasai women from his father’s homeland of Kenya, were just the beginning.

Since its inception, Adoption has evolved into a unique fashion house, known for its bold designs and deep cultural references. His latest collection, Aspire, is a tribute to his Kenyan heritage and family.

Incorporating the vibrant plaid shuka fabric traditionally worn by the Maasai tribe, the collection reinterprets cultural elements through a modern lens. Each piece, whether crafted in Kenya or in France with the help of his grandmother, carries a personal touch that connects past and present.

Beyond the garments, Christ’s fashion philosophy is also reflected in his personal style. His wardrobe seamlessly blends African and European influences—stiffly pleated khakis and oversized market totes contrast with sleek silk shirts and structured berets. “I experiment with my style every day,” he shares. “When I wake up, I have no idea what I’ll put together. It just comes to me in the moment.”

Faith remains at the core of Christ’s work. Much like designers such as Jerry Lorenzo of Fear of God, he integrates spirituality into his brand, using fashion as a means of expression and self-discovery. “My dad gave me the name Jadore Christ, which means ‘I love Christ,’ for a reason,” he explains. “With Adoption, I want to help people experiment with their style and find their own identity. I want to help people find themselves.”

Christ’s influence extends beyond clothing—his presence on social media documents his evolving style and creative process. He often shares behind-the-scenes glimpses of his work, from fabric sourcing trips in Kenya to spontaneous styling sessions in Paris. His commitment to authenticity and storytelling has garnered him a dedicated following, drawn to both his designs and the deeper message they convey.

Whether he’s accessorizing with a crossbody bag or layering a plaid jacket over a crisp white shirt, Christ’s approach to fashion is guided by instinct. “Most days, I wake up with no idea what I’ll wear,” he admits. “Then, suddenly, inspiration strikes.”

As he continues to develop Adoption, Christ’s mission remains clear: to create fashion with purpose, bridging cultures, and inspiring individuals to embrace their Christian identity. With each collection, he reinforces the idea that style is more than fabric and form—it’s a testament to one’s roots, beliefs, and aspirations.
