As the weekend approached, Philippine social media one again went abuzz after photos of James Reid and Issa Pressman holding hands spread online.

The two stars, who first got accused of getting together behind Nadine Lustre’s back three years ago, were spotted holding hands and being sweet with each other at the Harry Styles concert which took place last March 14, 2023 at the Philippine Arena.

One may recall back in January 2020 both of them were the center attention when Jadine, the on-and-off screen loveteam of James and Nadine, ended. A video of Issa allegedly kissing James literally behind Nadine’s back at an event surfaced and Yassi Pressman’s sister got bashed big time.

Back then, Yassi was quick to defend her younger sister, even posting a picture of her and Nadine laughing and pointing out that they were humored by how the picture of Issa and James was misinterpreted and became the fuel for groundless rumor. This time, Yassi simply posted on her Instagram story on March 17, “There are always 2 sides to a story. Abangan!!!” It must be noted, however, that Yassi’s new TV show on TV5 titled ‘Kurdapya’ starts March 18.

However, even though James’ Instagram story alluded to people false understanding the situation, he is more vocal about how he is feeling right now. “I’m only gonna say this once. The past rumors about Issa are just that, rumors. I usually never address bashers or get involved in hate culture but I feel the need to speak up now because this is the start of something beautiful. And I’m not gonna let anyone take that away from me. To my fans, all you need to know from me is I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” it read.

A screenshot of Nadine’s Instagram story way back October 2019, when rumors about Jadine parting ways were already swirling, resurfaced. It showed Nadine with a drawing of a snake on her face with the caption “Who tf [the f*ck]”. In addition to this, a screenshot of Nancy Mcdonie, the Korean-American former member of the South Korean Girl Group Momoland, apparently unfollowing James on social media spread on the internet. Nancy was linked to James before and they were spotted several times together.

Nadine had this to say about trusting people before: “Hindi naman ako madaling magtiwala, pero ‘yung experience ko is matagal ko na silang kilala pero kinilala ko naman sila. Pero parang malalaman ko na nagbreak ng trust or may ginawa na hindi okay or behind my back meron na palang mga ginagawa ano, parang mga five times na.”

Last October 2022, there was an IG story of Nadine showing a chat stating, “But real friends don’t do that.” Amidst these seeming puzzle pieces pointing to the James and Issa being together already for about three years now in secret.
