Jimmy Choo and Moda Operandi recently teamed up to bring Carrie Bradshaw’s New York to life for one unforgettable night. To mark Jimmy Choo’s 30th anniversary, they launched The Archive: 1997–2001, a capsule collection featuring eight iconic styles from the brand’s first five years—shoes that famously graced the feet of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie in Sex and the City.

The celebration took place at Onieal’s, a Soho bar known to fans as “Scout,” the beloved hangout spot of Carrie’s friends in the show. The event was a vibrant homage to early-2000s fashion and the glamorous yet gritty spirit of Carrie’s world.

Inside the bar, the atmosphere was pure nostalgia: pastel pink and purple balloons floated above trays of mini burgers and polenta fries, while Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” pulsed through the speakers alongside hits from the Spice Girls.

Guests sipped Grey Goose Cosmopolitans and admired the reissued shoes, including the legendary 72138 lilac suede heel adorned with delicate feathers—the very same style Carrie famously lost while chasing the Staten Island Ferry. This shoe, forever tied to that iconic Sex and the City moment, perfectly encapsulates Jimmy Choo’s blend of whimsy and elegance.

Moda Operandi’s Editor at Large, Tatiana Hambro, donned the star piece of the evening: the python knee-high Jimmy Choo boots known simply as “The Boot.” These boots first appeared in Season 3, Episode 2, and remain a symbol of Carrie’s signature style—effortless yet eye-catching, combining high fashion with New York street savvy.

Hambro’s excitement was contagious as she showed a still from the series, pointing out the boots and the original purple packaging, a detail that instantly transported guests back to the ‘90s and early aughts.

Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo’s creative director, spoke about the synergy between the house and Moda Operandi. “New York has always been part of our brand’s heartbeat—dynamic, expressive, stylish,” she said. “This partnership brings that to life for a woman who knows her style and owns it.”

Indeed, the collection’s revival was more than just nostalgia; it was a celebration of enduring style and craftsmanship that continues to inspire.

The evening drew a crowd of artists, writers, and fashion insiders who shared stories of their first encounters with Jimmy Choo and their admiration for Carrie Bradshaw’s fearless wardrobe.

Stylist Jessi Frederick remarked, “Reviving these styles is about reconnecting with a moment in time—a time when glamour and maximalism reigned supreme.” For one night, Onieal’s became more than a bar; it was a stage where fashion history was reanimated through every stiletto, strap, and feathered detail.

This event was a testament to Jimmy Choo’s lasting impact on fashion and pop culture. By resurrecting the shoes that helped define a generation, Jimmy Choo and Moda Operandi allowed fans to step back into Carrie’s New York—a city of dreams, drama, and the undeniable power of a perfect pair of heels.
