Kapamilya actor JM De Guzman has captured the heart of social media personality Donnalyn Bartolome after over a year of courtship.

In Donnalyn’s recent Facebook post last Friday, June 28, she reminisced about her meeting with JM, recalling when the actor made a pinky promise to her.

“When I met Juan Miguel on February 16, 2022 he made me pinky promise to do a fun collab with him… tawang tawa ako kasi wala akong maalalang lalaki na kilala kong nakikipagPinky promise. Why did he have to make me promise? I’ll tell you next time. I delivered our Pinky Promise.. and all this happened,” Donnalyn said.

“I thought we were only going to be friends. I was almost certain.. If everyone knew in detail how I felt, and everything that transpired, you’d feel the same, but the stars had something else written in them and during our exclusively dating phase, we assured each other promise rings, linked to the first promise we’d made to each other—a pinky kind for when we’re finally ready to be officially in a relationship,” she added.

“We trusted only one person for when the time comes. Hiding from each other while we designed each rounded gold separately for both our left littlest fingers in secret. Why they’re designed the way they are?  That’s for another time too.”

Furthermore, Donnalyn also shared that they went to Japan to formally ask for her hand in courtship, according to her.

“So we flew to the land of the rising sun to ask for my parents’ acceptance.. that’s why it took so long for us to share..that on June 22nd 2023,” she emphasized.

“His determination caused him to persist… until one day I just could no longer resist.”

“He awakened the love I didn’t know I still had to give to someone again ever, and even though I no longer believe in forever…I believe in Now.”

“Spell it backwards and that’s what he has done, the match to capture my heart, I declare out loud: Juan Miguel won.”

JM proudly showcased their couple ring with his girlfriend. The ring symbolizes their everlasting love for each other, always referring to her as his “Baby.”

“I love you baby.:) palagi… he captioned on his Instagram post, flexing their fingers. 

In 2023, despite their frequent appearances together, JM clarified that he and the content creator were not officially a couple yet. He emphasized that he was still in the process of courting Donnalyn and was prepared to be patient in his pursuit of her.

In November 2023, JM uploaded a vlog documenting his first official date with Donnalyn, highlighting that she agreed to a “not so friendly date” after multiple attempts since May 2022.

The vlogger acknowledged that the actor’s persistent pursuit eventually led her to accept him into her “heart.”
