Jo Koy is First Fil-Am to Host the Golden Globes

Jo Koy is set to make history as the first Filipino-American to host the Golden Globe Awards this year.
“We are thrilled to have Jo host the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards and bring his infectious energy and relatable humor to kick off Hollywood’s award season,” stated Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne in an official statement.
“We know Jo is bringing his A-game,” she added.
“I’ve stepped onto a lot of stages around the world in my career, but this one is going to be extramspecial. I’m so excited to be hosting the Golden Globes this year,” said the star.
He went on and said, “This is that moment where I get to make my Filipino family proud. Mahal Kita (Google it)!”
Born, Washington, Jo Koy, also known as Joseph Glenn Herbert Sr. in Tacoma, is a son of a white American father and a Filipina mother.
Jo Koy is known as a panelist on E!’s late night show Chelsea Lately, and has been seen in Comedy Central and Netflix specials.
