Julia Montes returns to television and joins the cast of the action series Ang Probinsyano.

The news was confirmed by Dreamscape Entertainment on Friday when it uploaded a photo of Julia at a presscon at ABS-CBN. 

She will finally be making her comeback as the leading lady of her former co-star and rumored boyfriend Coco Martin. The pair starred in the drama series Walang Hanggan in 2012, and in Wansapanataym’s Yamashita’s Treasures back in 2015.

Julia made her comeback in the series 24/7 in February 2020, however the project came to a halt due to the COVID-19 and the shutdown of the franchise. In the same year, Julia was set to star in Burado alongside Nadine Lustre, but the show didn’t follow through because of the restrictions implemented during the pandemic. 

New characters were also introduced during the event which will be portrayed by actors such as Rosanna Roces, Joseph Marco, and Vangie Labalan, Tommy Abuel, Michael Flores, Marela Torre, Chai Fonacier, and Elora Españo.

The television show is an adaptation of the 1997 film, and was dubbed a No. 1 hit after its release in 2015. 

Montes and Martin have also been making waves online for the past few months. It can be recalled that netizens were thrilled when photos of Coco and Julia went viral when they were spotted at an airport heading to Boracay on March 21. 

Even if the two stars were wearing face shields, everyone else was able to recognize them. 

They were also seen together bonding in Greenhills by a fan.
