Justin Bieber Gets Candid About Not Deserving Jesus’ Forgiveness and Love

Justin Bieber is opening up about a side of his life that his fans don’t often see—the depth of his faith and the gratitude he feels for Jesus’ love. The Canadian singer-songwriter took to Instagram last week to share a heartfelt reflection, thanking God for giving him “forgiveness and love” that he admits he doesn’t deserve.

In his post, Bieber shared a few close-up selfies, accompanied by the caption: “grateful for a new day. grateful for Jesus. He meets me every morning with forgiveness and love that I truly don’t deserve. He gives this love so freely, so graciously. Wouldn’t be able to get thru the day without his love. It meets me at my lowest.” The post has resonated widely, earning nearly half a million likes by Tuesday morning.
This is far from the first time Bieber has publicly expressed his Christian faith. Earlier this year, he described God’s love as transformative, saying it made him feel “wanted, chosen, delighted in” and characterized it as “a love that isn’t polite,” one that shatters shame and self-hatred. Bieber emphasized that God’s love doesn’t push or shove—it leads, invites, and floods one’s life with grace.

Bieber’s faith has been especially evident in how he navigated personal challenges, including health issues for both him and his wife, Hailey. In 2022, he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused partial facial paralysis and forced him to cancel several shows. Through it all, Bieber shared publicly that he trusted God’s plan, declaring, “I trust God and I trust that it’s all for a reason.” That same year, when Hailey experienced blood clots, Bieber reassured fans, saying, “I know for a fact that God has her in the palms of His hands, and that’s a good thing.”

Bieber has also celebrated milestones in his faith, including multiple baptisms—first in 2014, and again in 2020, when he and Hailey rededicated themselves to God. He released his gospel album Freedom in 2021 and hosted The Freedom Experience concert later that year. The concert featured prominent worship artists like Chandler Moore and Kari Jobe and encouraged 20,000 attendees to serve their communities through acts of service, from feeding the homeless to assisting the underprivileged in Los Angeles.

Faith and gratitude are not just themes in Bieber’s music—they are part of his daily life. He has body art that reflects his devotion, including a “grace” tattoo above his eyebrow, a cross on his chest, and images of Jesus on his leg. Psalm 119:105, which speaks of God’s word as a guiding light, is inked on his forearm, symbolizing how scripture guides his path.
Through all of this, Bieber’s message is simple yet profound: despite mistakes, flaws, and low moments, God’s love is unending, freely given, and transformative. For Bieber, this love is not something he earns—it is a gift that meets him at his lowest and carries him through each day.
