It certainly came as a surprise for followers of the certified hit show Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s Kourtney Kardashian and the renowned band Blink-182’s drummer Travis Barker when they officially became a couple. It wasn’t something that a lot of people expected or even believed at first, since many may think that they move in different social circles. The truth is the two have been friends for a while before getting in a relationship. Which is why a lot of fans are curious as to how their romance blossomed, especially that everyone can see their chemistry and sweetness for one another through social media.

Judging by the recent posts, there’s no denying that the two continue to be happier than ever as they keep posting pics of themselves getting cuddly and cozy with one another. Let’s take a look at how the relationship of this couple developed, and how it turned into something more:

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker go way back when

Travis was actually a long time friend of the Kardashian family. According to US Weekly, oth of them live in Calabasas, California in a gated community, and they have been seen out together on many occasions. One of those times was in 2018 when they were spotted having dinner and attending church service.

Back then in 2015, Travis even admitted to telling Us Weekly about being flirty with Kourtney’s sister Kim Kardashian. “How could you not stare at Kim? Mind you, I enjoyed hanging out with Paris, but I love curvy girls…Kim was eye candy. I was no way disrespectful to Paris, but I couldn’t keep my eyes off Kim!” And that since they live nearby one another they also liked to hang out sometimes. Travis even said he had a “a crush on her and we were flirtatious, but nothing ever happened.”

It’s also worth noting that Travis has made some appearances in the family’s long-running hit reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. And back in March 2019, Travis actually denied the dating rumors. “Kourtney’s like a dear friend. That’s it,” Travis said to PEOPLE during the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards, stating that it was platonic at the time. “I mean, I love her to death. I love her family to death. But yeah, just friends.”

Now that we’ve learned that the pair go way back, it was pretty normal to expect comments for one another’s social media posts. A while back in January 2021, Kourtney posted a selfie where she was poised in a sexy outfit that was a certified eye candy.

What many fans did note was that the Blink-192 member left a rose on her comments section, which was instantly liked by many and caused a spark of curiosity among her followers.

Another moment in January that sparked interest for Kravis as a couple was when, on Kourtney’s Instagram, she posted a scenic picture of a pool side, a stunning outside view of Kris Jenner’s house in Palm Springs. What ignited the fans to be more curious was Travis posting a similar scenery that was shot in the daytime.

First official news

The day after their Palm Sprigns post, news finally broke of the couple going official when sources of Us Weekly and People reported that the couple have begun to actually date a month or two ago. 

During the People Exclusive, a source stated: “They’re in Palm Springs together. They’ve been dating for about a month or two…they’ve been friends for a long time but it’s turned romantic. Travis has liked her for a while.”

Getting sweeter

When the month of hearts rolled in, an insider told E! News some update about the couple: “They seemed completely taken with one another as if they were the only two people in the world…They seem very connected, very close. Travis took her hand and they giggled as they started having a little thumb war with one another. It was playful and sweet. They were talking constantly and very engaged in one another. It seems like such a natural fit, being that they have been friends for so long. There was no awkwardness.”

And on February 17, they finally became Instagram official as Kourtney posted this simple yet sweet photo of their hands clasped together, drawing a lot of heart emojis from fans.

Since then, the two have only become sweeter both on and off social media. In March, Kourtney advertised his CBD-infused line of products as she wore a sweatshirt to showcase the Barker Wellness Co. on her Stories. The drummer did the same thing as well.

It’s also worth mentioning that the two are not afraid to express how much they adore one another on social media, as they begin to exhibit more photos and captions that express their love. One of which were photos shared by Travis Barker as they got cozy by the firepit.

When celebrities are in a relationship, fans wonder what each half of the couple would post on the other’s birthday. Of course, Travis didn’t disappoint as he took the time to appreciate his girl and tell the world how much he loves her. He posted a photo of them kissing with the caption:

They have also been spotted being sweet with other celebrity couples, like Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly during the latter’s birthday.
