The so-called “Queen of All Media” Kris Aquino gave some health updates last August 10 via Instagram post.

She chose August 10 because it was the “midpoint” date between death anniversaries of her parents, former President Cory Aquino and former senator Ninoy Aquino, respectively.

It can be read, “I chose the midpoint between my mom’s 14th death anniversary and my dad’s upcoming 40th death anniversary to THANK ALL OF YOU who continue to PRAY for my recovery.”

“My dad immediately died after being shot while descending the stairs to the Tarmac of what was then Manila International Airport, 21 August 1983. My Mom died of Stage 4 colon Cancer on 1 August 2009.”

“Upon initial diagnosis our mom was given 3 months BUT she fought hard, knowing her 5 kids weren’t ready. Our Mom underwent all the most painful treatments and God granted us 17 more months. It’s been 17 months since my Churg Strauss/EGPA diagnosis.”

Aside from these, she also gave details about the medication given by her medical doctor, Dr. Malika Gupta. Aquino said she has toughened up in receiving treatment, adding her doctor called her a “badass.”

“Dr. Malika Gupta gave me my 2nd dose of a biological injectable (unfortunately not available in the 🇵🇭) to help lower my very high IgE (please google, BORING sa haba kung i-define ko)…”

“She calls me a ‘bad-ass’ because kinakaya ko even though malapot at mahapdi yung ini-inject at malalim kailangan ibaon yung prefilled high tech syringe. Yes, matapang na ko sa halos lahat ng kailangan pagdaanan at mataas ang pain tolerance ko.”

“It’s the AFTERMATH, 72 hours feeling kagaya nung bigat after a Covid vaccine but x3. Yes, parang 3X akong na Pfizer or Moderna. This will be every other week, optimistically for me to reach “remission” over the next 10 to 12 months.”

Kris told her friends and supporters that she is “finally on the correct path to remission.”

“Thank you because our prayers are being answered- my last blood panel showed improvement- it’s slow progress, i have a long way to go… it’s likely that after a few months another medication will be introduced to my body by UCLA’s Dr Belperio- BUT I AM, against all odds (because of all my limitations with medicinal options), FINALLY, ON THE CORRECT PATH TO REMISSION and A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE. Thank you to all. THANK YOU, GOD.”

She also clarified that autoimmune disease is not curable, but life threatening damage on the patient’s organs can be prevented or managed if diagnosed early and/or given the proper treatment.

Unwavering support from her showbiz friends and supporters was very evident in the comment section. One of those was his “ex-boyfriend” Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste.

“Kids and I will always be by your side…for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish [FOREVER],” he said.

It can be recalled that Kris revealed that she has split with the vice governor, saying that it would be impossible for them to maintain a long-distance relationship (LDR) due to her health condition.

“We may not have had our ‘happily ever after’ but being sick has really taught me to look at the glass half full- thank you for giving me the chance to again experience the magic of once upon a time,” she wrote on Instagram last July 10.

“I asked Marc for a pause because with my condition the way it is now, I’m self-aware enough to know that a long-distance relationship will be next to impossible for us to maintain.”

“Nobody I’ve ever been in a relationship with has ever given me as much love and encouragement. He wasn’t only my boyfriend, he became my best friend and confidante, talagang maaasahan. The usage of WAS is correct.”

“For the Filipinos working all over the world, I know I’m blessed to have kuya Josh & Bimb with me- but most moms reading this will agree, we don’t want our kids to suffer from anxiety about our health, especially kung solo parent ka like me,” she added.
