Powerful storytelling meets spiritual depth in a new slate of films that explore how women rise above overwhelming trials by leaning on their faith. The four-part movie series, airing weekly, highlights real and fictional journeys of resilience, hope, and divine guidanceâeach anchored by an inspiring lead performance.
Opening the series is Faith in the Flames: The Nichole Jolly Story, featuring Chrissy Metz as a nurse who survived Californiaâs 2018 Paradise wildfire. The film recounts Nichole Jollyâs harrowing escape while trying to protect her patients and reunite with her family.
Metz, best known for her role in This Is Us, steps into the shoes of a real-life hero whose calm resolve under pressure made her a symbol of courage. In interviews, Metz has expressed how certain roles, like this one, feel like a divine assignmentâreminding her to trust in Godâs greater plan for her life and career.
The second installment, Before Your Father Finds Us, casts Alexa PenaVega as Sophia, a woman who escapes an abusive past only to be forced back into hiding when danger reemerges. Set against the backdrop of a remote wilderness, the film portrays a motherâs fierce love for her daughterâand her unwavering reliance on Godâs guidance as she navigates fear, uncertainty, and the haunting grip of the past.
PenaVega, known for her early work in Spy Kids, shares that her approach to choosing roles is deeply rooted in her faith, always asking, âWhat does God want me to reflect through this?â
Next up is If I Run, a suspenseful adaptation of Terri Blackstockâs bestselling novel. Starring and executive produced by Kat Graham, the film follows Casey Cox, a woman falsely accused of murder who finds herself on the run.
As Casey tries to prove her innocence, sheâs forced to confront not only legal challenges but spiritual ones, learning that running from God is much harder than running from the law. The story taps into the universal longing for justice, truth, and spiritual redemptionâanchored in a thrilling yet faith-filled narrative.
The series concludes with Finding Faith, a deeply emotional film led by Paula Patton. After a devastating loss, Faith Mitchell begins the painful yet healing process of rediscovering who she is and what she believes in. Her journey becomes one of rebuildingâphysically, emotionally, and spiritually.
This final chapter in the series ties together the broader theme: when everything falls apart, faith can be the foundation that holds us together.
Each film offers a unique portrayal of how faith intersects with crisis, reflecting real-life decisions, struggles, and triumphs. These arenât preachy narrativesâtheyâre intimate, emotionally grounded stories that mirror what many people live through every day. From fiery disasters to heart-wrenching betrayals, the characters are relatable, and their reliance on something greater than themselves feels both authentic and necessary.
This new series shines for its sincerity, heart, and deep reverence for the unseen strength that faith brings during lifeâs darkest moments.
