The true status of Coco Martin and Julia Montes’ relationship has been a topic of speculation in local showbiz for a long time. May 23, 2023, Martin allegedly ended the rumors by “officially” confirming that they are “seeing” each other for a long time.
During an interview with TV Patrol, the actor mentioned that maintaining their privacy contributed to the growth of their relationship.
“Mas masarap kasi ‘yong pribado ‘yong buhay, tahimik, walang mga issue. Ito, masaya kami. Napakasarap ng pakiramdam namin dahil ito, 12 years na kaming magkasama, pero pareho pa rin gaya ng dati,” he said.
But just a few days later, Coco clarified and explained that when he mentioned they’ve been together for 12 years, he was referring to the years they’ve worked together.
The pair has consistently expressed their support for each other over time. Back in 2012, Coco and Julia, popularly known as the CocoJul love team, were initially teamed up professionally in the ABS-CBN series “Walang Hanggan,” where they played the roles of lovers Daniel and Katerina, respectively. T
he show, which aired from January to October, also featured Dawn Zulueta, Richard Gomez, Susan Roces, Paulo Avelino, and Melissa Ricks. When “Walang Hanggan” debuted in January 2012, Julia was 16 years old, and Coco was 30.
Following the triumph of their television series, Coco and Julia starred in their inaugural film collaboration titled “A Moment In Time.” Joining them in the cast were Gabby Concepcion, Cherie Gil, Joseph Marco, and Ella Cruz. The movie premiered in February.
The CocoJul tandem made a comeback to primetime television with the series “Ikaw Lamang,” which also featured Kim Chiu, KC Concepcion, and Jake Cuenca.
Despite collaborating on various projects and even pursuing individual TV series and films, Coco and Julia have maintained their strong bond. Coco and Julia last worked together on the action-drama series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” in 2021 as their “reunion.” Up to now, Coco and Julia haven’t confirmed rumors claiming they have three children together.
