Once again, business tycoon and former senator Manny Villar is the ace among the 14 richest Filipinos who made it to Forbes Magazine’s 2023 World’s Billionaires List.

It is important to note that Villar is the chairperson of Vista Land & Landscapes Inc., AllDay Supermarkets, and Vistamalls Inc. According to Forbes, his net worth for this year is at an all time high of $8.6 million. From being in the 263rd place in 2022, he climbed up to the 232nd place this 2023.

He is followed by Filipino businessman Enrique Razon Jr., who in the 312th place. Razon, who owns Solaire Resort and Casino, has a current net worth of $7.3 billion, while the third richest Filipino in the world is Ramon Ang, whose net worth is $3.4 billion. Ang, who is in the 852nd place, owns San Miguel Corporations.

Henry Sy Jr. and Andrew Tan, both with a net worth of about $2.5 billion, tied for the 1,217th place. Sy is the co-vice-chairman of SM Investments Corp. (SMIC) while Tan is the owner of Emperador Distillers and has a large number of shares in Megaworld real estate company. Brothers Hans Sy and Herbert Sy, as well as Philippine Airlines owner Lucio Tan, triple-tied for the 1,272nd place. The three have a net worth of about $2.4 billion.

Here are other Filipinos who made it to the Forbes’ billionares club this 2023: Harley Sy and Teresita Sy-Coson (children of the late Henry Sy Sr.), 1,368th place with $2.2 billion net worth; Elizabeth Sy (daughter of the late Henry Sy Sr.), 1,575th place, $1.9 billion net worth; Lance Gokongwei (President and CEO of JG Summit Holdings Inc.), 2,020th place, $1.4 billion net worth; Tony Tan Caktiong (Chairman and Founder of Jollibee Foods Corporation), 2,259th place, $1.2 billion net worth; and Iñigo Zobel (San Miguel Corporation’s Chairman of the Board), 2,540th place, $1 billion net worth.

Bernald Arnault, owner of the buggest luxury goods conglomerate LVMH (Louis Vuitton, Moët, Hennessy), remains the richest man in the world. His net worth is $211 billion. He is followed by Elon Musk of Tesla Inc., who has a $180 billion net worth; Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com Inc who has $114 billion net worth; Larry Ellison, of Oracle, who’s worth $107 billion; and Warren Buffett, chairman and founder of Berkshire Hathaway, with $106 billion net worth.
