Mass Baptisms Continue as Thousands Across U.S. Publicly Declare Faith in Historic Move of God

On Pentecost Sunday, thousands of believers across the United States gathered in unison to take part in what is now considered the largest synchronized baptism event in American history.
The Baptize America initiative — a powerful movement of unity and faith — witnessed over 26,000 individuals publicly declare their belief in Jesus Christ through water baptism.
The event, which involved over 650 churches from all 50 states, is being celebrated as a historic spiritual moment in the life of the American Church. From coast to coast, beaches, malls, and church grounds were transformed into sacred spaces where stories of redemption, healing, and new beginnings unfolded.
In Southern California, Pirate’s Cove — the iconic location tied to the 1970s Jesus Movement — became a focal point of revival once again. Families, young adults, and longtime seekers entered the waters as hundreds cheered from the shore. “It felt like God was there — just amazing,” shared Kaili Newby, one of the thousands baptized. The day was filled with powerful testimonies of transformation and hope.
Gabriel, another participant, shared how his mother’s prayers and God’s grace rescued him from a troubled past in the Middle East. “If it wasn’t for her prayers, I would either be dead or in jail,” he said, now washed anew and beginning a new chapter in faith.
Jorge Gonzalez, who was baptized alongside his brother, described the moment as life-changing. “God was pulling all my heartstrings,” he said. “Today was the perfect opportunity to surrender my life.”
The emotional impact of the day was not limited to those being baptized. Volunteers like Alissa Circle witnessed the power of the moment firsthand. “The coolest part was just experiencing people experiencing Jesus,” she said. “You could feel the presence of God moving among us.”
Pastor Mark Francey, one of the key leaders behind Baptize America, emphasized that the movement is about far more than numbers. “This wasn’t just about a moment in the water; it was about launching people into a life with Jesus, surrounded by a community that can help them grow,” he explained.
What began as Baptize California with 4,000 baptisms in its first year has grown exponentially. Last year saw more than 6,000 baptisms — and now, over 26,000 in a single nationwide event. Pastor Francey believes this is only the beginning: “What happens at this beach will go to the ends of the earth.”
Looking ahead, Baptize America is set to become an annual Pentecost Sunday tradition, with plans already underway for next year. “We believe Pentecost Sunday will be marked yearly by revival, renewal, and restoration across America,” Francey shared.
From small towns to major cities, this movement stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith. As Pastor Francey noted, “God is not done with America.” Revival, it seems, is not just a memory of the past — it is unfolding now, in real time, across a nation that is turning its heart back to God.
