“BENCAB” AT THE PEN

Come and celebrate the arrival of esteemed artist Benedict “BenCab” Cabrera, the sole living National Artist for Visual Arts in the Philippines, as he takes up residency at The Peninsula Manila. Starting on May 21, 2024, BenCab will be crafting a unique series of tapestries in his public studio within the hotel, set to be showcased in The Lobby until July 21.

Continuing the legacy of Art in Resonance (AiR), The Peninsula’s worldwide initiative dedicated to honoring and fostering contemporary art, The Peninsula Manila is proud to introduce an art exhibition titled Series 8.

This showcase highlights eight site-specific tapestries created by Benedicto Cabrera, also known as BenCab, inspired by his renowned Larawan and Sabel collections.

Other Art in Resonance-related experiences scheduled for hotel guests will include: (1) BenCab AiR art tours, including The Peninsula Manila collection (2) BenCab AiR “Artist’s Talk” with the artist and noted Philippine historian Ambeth Ocampo (3) BenCab AiR-inspired Afternoon Tea, and (4) AiR children’s art class.
