More Miracles of Jesus: Part 2

SHARE
In Part 1 of our exploration of Jesus‘ miraculous works, we witnessed His divine power through acts like turning water into wine, healing a paralyzed man, healing a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years, raising Lazarus from the dead, and the moment the Holy Spirit descended on Him during His baptism.
In this second part, we continue to explore more of these miracles, each showing His authority over nature, illness, and even death.
1. Jesus Heals a Blind Man (John 9:1-12)
As He and His disciples passed by the man, they asked whether the blindness was due to the man’s sin or his parents’ sin. Jesus replied that it was neither, but that the works of God might be displayed in him. He then spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and placed it on the man’s eyes, instructing him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. When the man did, he received his sight for the first time.
2. Jesus Calms a Storm (Mark 4:35-41)
While crossing the Sea of Galilee, a violent storm suddenly arose, causing the disciples to panic. As the waves battered the boat, Jesus was asleep. In their fear, they woke Him, and He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, âPeace, be still.â Immediately, the storm subsided, and there was a great calm. The disciples were left in awe, questioning, âWho then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?â
3. Jesus Feeds the 5,000 (John 6:1-14)
A large crowd had gathered to hear Jesus speak, and as the day wore on, the people were hungry. With only five loaves of bread and two fish, Jesus performed a miraculous multiplication. He blessed the food, and it was distributed to the crowd, with twelve baskets of leftovers remaining after everyone had eaten.
4. Jesus Walks on Water (Matthew 14:22-33)
After feeding the 5,000, Jesus sent His disciples ahead of Him by boat while He went up the mountain to pray. Later that night, He walked on the water toward them. The disciples, terrified, thought He was a ghost.
But Jesus reassured them, saying, âTake courage! It is I. Donât be afraid.â Peter, in his boldness, stepped out of the boat to walk towards Jesus, but when he saw the wind, he began to sink. Jesus immediately caught him, saying, âYou of little faith, why did you doubt?â
5. Jesus Heals a Deaf and Mute Man (Mark 7:31-37)
In another display of His compassion, Jesus healed a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment. He took the man aside, put His fingers in the manâs ears, and touched his tongue. After looking up to heaven, Jesus sighed and said, âEphphatha,â which means, âBe opened.â Immediately, the manâs ears were opened, and he began to speak clearly.
These miracles not only served as signs of Jesus’ divine nature but also as profound lessons in faith, hope, and trust in God’s power. Each act revealed a deeper aspect of His character and purpose in fulfilling Godâs plan for salvation.
