The MPT DriveHub Cycling Team has officially arrived on the cycling scene, and what a debut it was! Competing against 16 other formidable racing squads in the prestigious MPTC Tour of Luzon, the team not only made its mark but also brought home some impressive honors, cementing its place as a force to be reckoned with in the world of professional cycling.

A Collective Victory 

From the first pedal stroke to the final finish line, the MPT DriveHub Cycling Team showcased unmatched teamwork and determination, becoming the champion for Team General Classification with a total time of 88:22:02. In their debut race, they rose to the top, securing the crown from the previous title holder and marking a new era in Philippine cycling. 

Spotlight on the Heroes

Captain Mervin Corpuz once again proved his prowess, claiming the title of Sprint King. With consistent podium finishes in the earlier stages, Mervin left no room for doubt about his elite status. His leadership and determination guided the team through every challenge.

“Hindi madali ‘yung laban, pero pinakita ng team na basta may tiwala sa isa’t isa, kaya naming lumaban hanggang dulo,” says Coach Santi Barnachea. “Proud ako sa team na ito.”

Co-captain Jonel Carcueva was a standout throughout the race, clinching 3rd place in the Individual General Classification and 3rd place in the Eagle of the Mountain category. Jonel’s resilience and steady performances on every stage were key to the team’s success.

Rounding out the top performers, Rustom Lim made a significant impact, securing a spot in the Top 10 in the Individual General Classification, proving his strength and skill in one of the toughest races in the country.
