Neri and Chito Miranda’s ‘Hillside House’ in Baguio Will Keep You Cozy

Named ‘The Hillside House’ by the Chito and Neri Naig Miranda, their first Baguio dream home bought almost a year ago can now be rented.
One may recall Neri described the property and its amenities on her Instagram post last February 7. She underlined the size as quite small, but there is a large garden, with brand new plants, where kids can run around. There are even some small birdhouses hanging. “Dati, hindi mo mapuntahan itong area na ito. Nakakatakot,” said Chito on their Youtube vlog touring the place uploaded last February 17.
The olive green and white main gate opens to a parking lot which can fit four cars. On the right side, one can see a grotto with the statue of the Virgin Mary. The space is ideally for 11 people but since the whole place is being rented out, it is up to the occupants if there’ll be more than 11 people using the place. There’s also a room for a driver/assistant in the staff house.
From the parking area, there’s another set of stairs which lead directly to the staff house. “Wow, hindi staff house ito. Parang tambayan ko ito eh,” said an amazed Chito upon seeing it for the first time. Like many of the furniture in the house, many of the items inside are also from Hotel Sogo, like the TCL TV.
There’s a sofa with a side table, and a cabinet with a mirror. There are wooden chairs and tables in the dining space good for 6 people.
There’s an abundance of shelves, a medium sized Kelvinator refrigerator, a stove, a range hood, and a sink. It actually looks like a bachelor’s pad rather than a staff house so the Parokya ni Edgar vocalist even joked about making this his “man cave”.
The double deck bed is where the current help, Leah and Rosalie, sleep. The rest room even has a glass panel to separate the shower area, a shower, and even a bidet.
As for the outdoor spaces, Neri recommended the pergola as the best place to hang out, especially during sunset till nightfall since it has a “super ganda ng view” which overlooks the city. It is a good “merienda” area since it has three chairs complete with cushions ad a pillow for the back, as well as a small table.
There is even a separate herb garden a few steps away from the pergola and by the side of the house itself. You can get mint, parsley, thyme, basil, oregano, lemon, etc. One may note there are also flowering plants like dahlia. If you are facing the house, the right side has 5 white chairs and a medium-sized table.
The outdoor kitchen has a small sink outside the door, and a Norfolk pine. Beside the sink is a grill to cook food on. Inside, there is a mini sofa and a low table which can actually be brought out to the al fresco area and is extendable for 6 people. Shelves are placed by the stove and there’s even a range hood.
Noticeably, the posts of the main house are actually made up mainly of stones and gravel, which makes them really unique. The white main double doors open up to a small carpeted living room with a Christmas tree, with small lampshades on the posts accentuating the area with their yellow light. There are books and rustic decors on the shelves. The living room’s walls are mainly made of wood and stone. The television, which is actually smaller than the one in the staff house, has its own wooden cabinet.
There’s a large gray sofa set with 7 pillows and a small chandelier hanging in the ceiling. A fake fireplace for aesthetic purposes can also be seen in the abode with socks hanging by it. The dining area has three red chairs and 1 small glass table. The dirty white curtains utilize blinds, and there’s a white and teal counter prior to entering the small kitchen area.
Meanwhile, the wooden spiral staircase leads to a loft type bedroom at the faux attic, aside from the bedrooms with actual doors located downstairs.
The actress-turned-entrepreneur’s prior post went into details as to why she chose that particular property. In a prior social media post, one of the reasons she shared is that she took part in the University of Baguio’s alternative learning program in 2021, which resulted in her graduating from a business course the following year.
Chito is very proud of his wife when it comes to her having taken the helm when it came to renovating ‘The Hillside House’, and even recognized Neri as the sole owner of the property, calling it “Ang Bahay ni Neri sa Baguio”.
The couple’s friends have been nothing short of supportive. Spotted on Neri’s Instagram comments section congratulating her are Karen Davila, Moira dela Torre, Megan Young, Melissa Ricks, Marjorie Barretto, MJ Marfori, and Nene Tamayo.
This is not the couple’s first foray into renting out a property. Miranda’s Rest House, which has a following of around 60,000 on Facebook, has been around since 2019.
It’s a room accommodation and events place located in Alfonso, Cavite and has already been featured in some vlogs. Similar to the Baguio property, it’s a good fit if you’re in a group rather than just going solo or duo, since rental rates start at Php5,000 for a big room, 20,000 for 4 rooms, and 30,000 for the pavilion, which people usually rent if they are booking the venue for an actual event and not just a staycation.
The official Instagram handle of the Baguio Miranda rental is @baguiohillsidehouse. You may text or call 09672119578 for reservation/info.
